    I’m a 4K snob now. 1080p is old news.

I bought an Xbox One so I could buy the UHD disc when it comes out. I'm worried I won't get full 4K resolution from a stream.

Fun Daisy interview on the Star Wars Facebook page w/ Andi. Link doesn’t seem to work, but it’s still there, love what she says about Rey’s compassion and how it is not a detriment

Also, this sounds really cool and fascinating:
In an interview with Prime Video, Johnson says there will be a “music only” version of the film you can watch that truly highlights Star Wars veteran John Willams’ score. “Basically, we did a mix where there is no dialogue, no sound effects, no backgrounds — nothing but the score just playing at regular, perfect level,” Johnson explained. He went onto to say that this will allow fans to “watch it like a silent film” and said, “If you do this, it’s incredible because it really… you see the nuance that he rides the emotion of the scenes with.” Disney confirmed this version’s release, saying it will be exclusive to Movies Anywhere.

Northeast getting yet another storm tonight, odds of a snowday tomorrow are high, coinciding with the digital release. I will be watching this twice tomorrow.

Anyone know if and what special features come with digital version or iTunes version? I noticed that baby driver on iTunes came with almost everything that the blu Ray did...

Edit: seems like the big documentary is available , I know what I’m doing tonight

Also it’s not 4K in iTunes wtffff

I bought the iTunes digital and the standard release bluray of TFA and all bonus content was included and the same on the digital release, the Target and Best Buy release i believe had one or two additional little things as exclusives but all bonus content available on physical should be included in the digital purchase.

Vudu has 4K. Weird that iTunes doesn’t.

Going to watch some of the documentary tonight too :praise:

It makes me sad how much time, effort, and money went into building the casino set...all for a scene that barely anyone likes / one of if not the least important scene in the movie.

I wonder how they could have made better use of it, story-wise. Maybe just spend more time in the actual casino interacting with some patrons instead of getting thrown in jail right away idunno

I agree. I feel like the war profiteering aspect could have been explored in a much better way overall, possibly to the point of influencing the story in a major way. That was the one part of the movie I was pleasantly surprised by.

More than anything with this movie, I've thought about how this could have been done differently. Which is odd, because there are so many things I love about the movie as a whole. But my mind always seems to come back to Canto Bight. It is the biggest missed opportunity in the film.

Missed opportunity, yes, for sure. But I am trying to think of another part of the movie I would have shortened so that the Canto scenes could be extended. I definitely don't want any time taken from Luke/Rey, I still feel like we didnt get enough. Maybe the whole beginning battle sequence could have been trimmed, but only 1-2 minutes maybe. It's hard when the movie already clocked in at 2 hrs 32mins.

I am so antsy to go home and get lost in deleted scenes and the documentary and then finally watch the movie.

Rian clearly had a vision and a message he wanted to send with the Canto scenes, but it felt shoehorned and rushed. I would have loved to see much less or no Fathier chase scene and an expansion on the war profiteering. Im sure there is no shortage of creative ways they could have come up with them getting caught then ecaping. We wasted 5-6 minutes on a pod racing style chase scene. Thats the worst part.

    “The greatest teacher, failure is”

agreed. I wish there was no parking violation/jail scene.

All we had in the casino was that one opening shot/fathiers wrecking shit. I think it would’ve been better if they were actually forced to be in the casino and gamble.

I wish it was the same where they found therox, but when they try to talk to him he ignores them and keeps trying to get them to gamble. Maybe he says he’ll do it if they beat him in a game of chance.

Immediately thats something new that we’ve never had before in the movies. Gambling (which would’ve been cool because well get it in Solo too). They could’ve invented a new game other than sabacc. We get new characters/aliens that they meet at the table. With those interactions they could’ve expanded upon the war profiteering. Maybe they talk about the war like it’s a game. How much ____ made off of the resistance. I made______ selling TIEs. Whatever. More than that though it actually puts you in the casino atmosphere where they (and we) are learning a new game and having fun with winning/losing.

mAybe they win somehow and therox/DJ honors the bet. Maybe DJ is just another person at the table and Rose/Finn lose and reveal they have no money or something then they get thrown in jail and DJ helps them for some reason. Idk. Then they can find there way to the fathiers and the kids.

Idk. But I agree I wanted to be in the casino more.

    “The greatest teacher, failure is”

I think it was just so hard because the movie had so many things going on. What I proposed probz wouldn’t work flow wise and probably would require more time than what we had. Idk.
