Looks like TLJ has officially flopped its way in to the Top 10 all time.

use the search function at the top of the thread. Make sure "search this thread only" is checked and specify the user you want where it says "posted by member".

Some of these could be happy accidents, but seeing little things like this make me appreciate Rian Johnson's attention to detail and make me like this movie (and the trilogy thus far) more and more.

Rian Johnson's defense of some pretty easily connected or explained points of this movie really make me annoyed, even further, but some of the entitlement that comes with people viewing these films.

Yea... I saw that earlier. What an utterly boring movie that would be.

I honestly hope Rian's trilogy is just a revenge arc where women of color and aliens from across the galaxy force choke angry white men.

I saw that article earlier today as well and actually lol’d at the utter insanity of the person who took the time to do all of that. I love the fact that the ST is so female driven (yeah, the MRAs even dislike Kylo because he’s too vulnerable/emotional and that Rey is his equal). I once stumbled upon one of their YouTube videos where this MRA guy provided commentary for TFA and it was so racist and awful. Their views are the antithesis of SW, which is all about hope and compassion.
Btw, the fact that TLJ also has the female gaze in it is really the cherry on top. They probably can’t handle that at all.

I'd rather edit Laura Dern in to every scene instead

I'm honestly kind of interested in seeing if the movie still makes any sense at all without any women in it

Like what's the point without Rey? You can't have barely any Finn or Poe scenes either because they're with Rose/Laura Dern for most of their screentime. I'm surprised they even got 46 minutes out of it

I doubt it's even really their issue. With the current climate of our culture, I wouldn't doubt this was solely to ruffle feathers and get attention.

I saw this again and cringed at few more spots than I had before. The lightsaber toss, the shoulder dust off, a couple of one liners that didn't stand out before but do now. The action sequences are amazing, and it is easily the most beautiful Star Wars film yet. I still feel that I liked TFA more structurally, and I miss having the allure of Snoke as a bigger part of the story as well as Rey who now feels a little one-dimensional to me.

With Abrams directing XI, I wouldn’t be surprised if he finds a way to just give a tiny bit of information on Snoke even though he’s dead. I hopes he does anyway

A movie can flop in a couple countries and still be very successful, just sayin’

Whether a line in XI or in a spinoff book, I'm positive we'll get some backstory for Snoke. He has served his purpose as far as I'm concerned.

this movie has made over 1.2 billion worldwide so if it's a flop people love the flop.

  25. Imagine still going in on the "it's a flop" narrative now. :crylaugh::crylaugh:
