Its so dumb to be upset about Holdo not telling Poe her plan. There's a plethora of reasons why a high ranking officer wouldn't tell a lower rank their plans.

Never noticed the parallel line with Rose & DJ. Nice catch.

On Poe/Holdo, I think a lot of people don't realize that Holdo doesn't have a plan yet when her and Poe first talk. There's a line just before the Supremacy arrives through hyperspace where Leia and another mention that they need to find a new base. Right after that they get surprised by the First Order. So there's no way Leia or Holdo had Crait set as the destination at that point.

Why would they stop there, with limited a fuel supply, without planning on going to Crait? If that wasn't there plan, I don't see why they stopped there and not their destination.

I don't know, but the line is in there.

If Crait was the plan all along, it wouldn't really make sense to stop over 18 hours away either though.

Yea, I don't think Crait was the plan. Its outdated. I just wonder why they stopped there.

    “The greatest teacher, failure is”

“It’s a need to know plan. And she doesn’t.” He basically exonerates holdo in that one line. People can’t be mad at holdo when Poe did the same thing and With better reason. He eventually tells her when the plan isn’t going well and wants her to change her plans to accommodate this rogue plan that he went behind leaderships back to carry out. Then you know does a mutiny. Then impulsively flips out at her and calls her a coward and a traitor. But holdo is obviously the bad leader.

Also in holdos speech she explicitly says our mission is survival and then the impulsive pilot who just disobeyed direct orders and sacrificed what little attack ships they had lift tries to be a part of the command and give her advice. If he refused orders from Leia to retreat what makes her think he’d be accepting of her plan anyways. She’s also probably pissed.

I like that she came off a little dismissive/villainous at first because were looking at her from Poe’s perspective and we know Poe to be a hero and a main character. We needed his point of view/mindset to be on board with his secret mission. If we thought he was wrong then we wouldn’t have even been invested in that storyline if we were on Holdos side at first. We had to go through another of his failures in the canto bight thing that leads to deaths of hundreds of people and then the mutiny until we see (as Poe now finally sees) that holdo is just the better leader. She had a plan. Shes not a coward. She’s willing to sacrifice herself if she has to but survival is more important.

Also I’m glad I’m the end she shows she likes Poe and knows he just cares.

    “The greatest teacher, failure is”

That was the plan I think. When Leia is talking to Poe she they’d sneak onto the base with the smaller ships (which they thought would go undetected because the FO was only focused on the big ships) they’d sneak onto Crait and the first order would should the Raddus and think they had killed the resistance then leave. There’s literally nothing else they could’ve done. That had to be the plan.

And was ruined by Poe’s plan lol

Also when Poe finds out they were abandoning ship and throws a tantrum Leia is not awake at that point i don’t think so I think it was all Holdo

I am talking about the plan before all of that. The plan before jumping in to light speed. Why did they choose that spot to stop traveling light speed. They didn't know the First Order would track them there, so I am wondering if Crait was the plan the whole time. Prior to them being attacked.

Ooohhh gotcha. Good point. First time I’ve heard that brought up. Hmm. Yeah I can’t imagine crait was the plan. And yea I can’t even think of any reason. They had multiple ships at the time and still had their fighters. They could’ve been just looking to escape in a part of space that they knew would be safe and could call for allies to bring them fuel or one of the cargo vessels like rose and finn stoke could get fuel pods.

    Good question.

So, how does one go about framing a 9.5x13 poster? Such a weird size, AMC.

I use Art To Frames for most of my framing. You can do any tenth of inch since they make them to order. Usually they have promo code if you do a quick search.

Edit: FRAMEFB15 should get you 15% off.

For me, there’s not anything I hated, but I was left feeling pretty deflated. The stories I was excited about and loved in TFA all took wildly different directions this time around. I graded it like this after a second watch.

    A+ for originality
    A+ on the visuals

-But where are we going in the third? How do we tie any of these stories together to make it feel less convoluted?
-What is there to be excited about for a third movie? Finn and his new friend chasing down BDT’s lackluster character I don’t remember the name of?
-Kylo Ren and Rey facing off for a third time?
-Luke cameoing in a way Yoda just did? (which will be indefinitely cooler than any other force ghost they’ll actually use)
-Leia not being able to properly close off her story?
-Given the current status of the resistance, would other star systems actually respond to the call?
-Is it wrong to guess that no matter what, Rey will defeat Kylo regardless of whatever circumstances come?
-Isn’t redemption clearly a bit too far out for him now?
-Does anyone think they both live and reform the ways of teaching the force? Isn’t that kind of too simple/boring?
-Would Abrams have Kylo kill Rey? I’d bet money the answer is no.
-Is Poe gonna hopefully not be a hard-headed nimwit with wasted screen time, and actually be helpful in pulling together the last remnants of the Resistance?

I don’t know what to expect or look forward to with this last chapter. I am happy Abrams is back for it because I do prefer TFA to TLJ. If anyone can make a third to this trilogy that I’d love, it’s him.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

See that is precisely why I’m so excited for IX, and I love TLJ. For one of the first times as a fan I just have no real idea where it’s going to go, and thats so cool and freeing to me as a viewer. There are sone ideas I have about the next one but what’s the point? I just need to wait and see

We reach for the longest shadow

I heard them talking about this on Rebel Force Radio, but it would be really cool if they had force ghost Luke actually do some damage in a battle. Yoda being able to actually hit Luke and then catch the temple on fire with lightning opens the door for force ghost to be more than just ghosts.

tbh i'd be fine if we didn't see any force ghosts in IX, but I am sure we will see Luke return in some form.

Ugh, RFR is the worst. I'd suggest checking out Full of Sith for great SW podcasting. RFR are problematic at best, downright despicable at worst.

We reach for the longest shadow

Any reason why? I've enjoyed listening to their TLJ review shows, but I haven't listened to anything else. It does seem like the flow is always ruined by their midshow ads and the conversation never gets back on track, but other than that its fine.

"I saved your life, dummy" was twice as cringy this time though.

Here's what I found. The model is a V-4X-D ski speeder. They were originally civilian crafts, but the Rebel Alliance outfitted them with Twin laser cannons and a light coating of armor (too much armor would "encumber the craft"). It runs off of turbine drive motors and uses a "halo foil" (mono-ski) for extra stability.
