No, he just pulled the ceiling down.

I still think kylo took his lightsaber. No evidence but I think that’s why luke didn’t project that one on Crait.

While we’re on the subject of sabers, can we get some new colors? Yellow? Silver? Periwinkle? Salmon?

    And grabbed the lightsaber ;-)

    I think iirc

The sabers were locked together. He used his left hand to take down the ceiling and his right to fend off Luke's saber.

Yea... I can’t say Kylo didn’t take it, but we didn’t see him take it either.

Luke used the blue lightsaber in the final confrontation because it was a clever filmmaking move: we saw the blue lightsaber get destroyed so if he were using it in the showdown then we'd know something was amiss-- which it is, he's projecting himself and not actually there. Same with the shot of Luke's X-Wing submerged and dormant. We know he can't get off the planet, but he shows up anyway. Fun little stuff that audiences mostly forget in the moment.

More important question is do we think we’ll ever get an answer?

Eh.... that only works for the audience though. There is no in movie reason (that we know of at this point) that he would use the blue saber over the green. He specifically ages himself down to appear as he did when he last saw Ben. Why wouldn’t he match the saber with that image?

Luke doesn’t know that it’s actually broken at this point. Kylo doesn’t seem to react to it despite knowing that. It’s... odd.

Eh I feel like they wouldn’t want us to know something was amiss. They want to believe he’s there more to be more surprised by the reveal. Maybe you’re right though.

Yeah. It's a detail for the audience, not the characters. You can fairly quibble over it, but ultimately it's a Star Wars movie and in that context it's one of a million things that doesn't make sense when you actually question it, but doesn't really matter.

If they didn't want us to know something was amiss they wouldn't have intentionally inserted the detail that doesn't make sense.

    music and baseball.

Luke doesn't know its broken, so it doesn't not make sense.

Kylo not reacting to it is weird

  15. I don’t think Kylo knows it’s broken. He was knocked out from that explosion.

It’s possible... seemed like he would have seen it though. But I’d have to watch the timing of it all and such.

Guess I may have to go back and see it in theaters again.

I loved how Kylo's crushed mask shot is essentially the same shot of Vader's broken mask in TFA.

There were a few things like that. I first felt the hint when Luke walks in and Leia's comment is just a joke about her own hairdo - which was ironic because Luke was the one who had different hair than he did five minutes prior. I just thought, "When did he have time for a haircut? On the Falcon? Wait, how did he even get there?"

They did show that shot of it underwater on purpose. I wonder if it was to help misdirect? I do give the movie a lot of credit for keeping me on my toes throughout.

I figure showing the X-Wing was to show that he has the means of getting off the planet any time he wants. Makes him being on the mineral planet more plausible.

How did Rose and Finn make it all the way back to the resistance base after crashing without getting blown the fuck up?
