Yea, Rebels has been a far stronger show consistently. I prefer a tighter focus, so less “experimentation” works for me.

The problem with Clone Wars is that they waste a lot of episodes on characters like Jar Jar or random droids.

That like 5 part droid arc in season 5(?) was really rough to get through.

Rebels has had a few similar episodes, but they are always one offs, so if they don’t work you get back to the main story the next episode. I much prefer that.

Yea those are my favorite ones too. Also love when Obi Wan went under cover and got to spend an arc with my avatar-sake. Like I like animated shows a lot, but I’ve never been so surprised or in suspense than that show. Amazing storytelling.

Yea I can’t argue with that lol some of the arcs are difficult to get throughout but I found them few and far between

Yea, I never really watched animated shows outside of animated comedies before Clone Wars. Really took me by surprise.

It’s just far more noticeable and a dectraction for the series when they are multi episode.

And those Jar Jar ones. Yikes. Lucas couldn’t let the poodoo go. At least the other characters always treated him with disdain and openly showed how little they thought of him.

speculating who broom boy is obviously misses the point thematically

All I know is that if I'm ever in a Star War and I am seemingly trapped, I'm following any canine-like creature I see.

Pretty wild that Han and Luke die within like 48 hours of each other.

Do we think Leia will too?

I mean... with the way this one ends, I am expecting some time to go by before 9 happens. Mainly to reform the rebellion with any allies they can get to join, as there are like 20 people left on the Falcon.

With that in mind, adding in the fact that Carrie is gone and Lucasfilm has said they won’t recast or digitally recreate, she is likely to die in between films. If that’s what they do, it is unlikely we will know exactly when she passed relative to movie events.

Depends how big of a time jump they do and how her loss is spoken about.

Yeah in her interview with Andi Gutierrez at the premiere she was holding back tears. I love her.

She is wonderful. I love everything that she brought to the character. I had never even heard of her until this movie, time to fix that

She's wonderful. I can't believe that there are people who hate Rose.

I def sometimes forget how important these movies are for younger people.

This is the magic. This is why these movies matter

This was a lot of fun. Really loved the additions of Holdo and Rose.

  20. So I missed the last ~80 pages of this thread, but I just wanted to say I thought this was incredible. Delivered on all fronts and in ways I didn't even know it could. I'm seeing it for the 3rd time tomo night.

It's been 5 days since I've seen it and the movie is still largely all I think about.

I don't even like Star Wars that much.

    Saw this last night.

Kylo Ren is EVERYTHING Anakin should have been in the prequels. Tortured, good story arc, interesting, well acted, etc. I'm almost rooting for him at this point and the bit where he kills Snoke was fucking badass.

Luke's story arc pissed me off a little. All that build up and he dies like that? He should have been cut down by Kylo Ren like a true hero.
Also Porgs are cute. I want one.

What a weird definition of a true hero.

Man oh man, I can’t imagine a much better send-off than buying time for the Resistance by using the Force in ways we’ve never seen before to redeem himself for past mistakes, then passing on with his eyes looking towards the sunset. It was perfect.
