Oh, true, gotcha. Well yeah, I just mean Lucas doesn't know what he even wrote when he wrote it himself.

Come on, he had this ALL planned out. He also TOTALLY knew from the start Luke and Leia were siblings, which is why ... uh ... he had them kiss. Wait...

    Oh, George.

I love Lucasfilm knows how people are going to pick apart every frame of the film to find something to hate but fills those holes in other canon rather than having to feel they need to waste screen time to justify everything.

Those who love it enough to explore fall more in love. Those who give a shit? Eh..fuck em. If we explained why in the movie they’d complain that in this universe they wouldn’t need to explain how things work.

Do you need any lead-in before reading the new Canon Thrawn books? I read the old ones a while back and loved them.

I’m gonna die on a bad hill here.

I kinda like the space diner scene. It’s so dumb. That I like it

I’m rewatching The Clone Wars series and there was a fun little battle between R2 and an R3 droid. Makes me wish we had gotten some kind of BB8 vs BBH8 fight.

    I know, it’s really BB-9e.

It’s just dumb and doesn’t make sense. But it’s not the worst part to me. You do you.

There are a lot of good criticisms of the movie and a lot of legit gripes but using the gravity thing, bending lasers, etc. is just ridiculous at a point.

I still think my friends comment about the fact that Star Destroyers thrusters weren’t full blast and they should’ve been able to catch the resistance ships almost ruined the movie for him is probably one of the biggest nit picks I’ve ever heard.

Like if anything complain about how for some reason TIE fighters didn’t go and try to fight them because “if were far enough away they’ll fall back”. I don’t care but that makes less sense to me than the destroyers catching them. Lol

I feel bad for all these anhedonic people who’s brains are so conditioned to find any reason to not like art that’s goal is to entertain you and make you happy. I can only imagine how they view life in general. These inconsistencies are funny for things like parodies like robot chicken/honest trailers/HISHE and almost should add to the enjoyment of movies like this, not be an argument for why Star Wars is ruined.

I’m preaching to the choir. I know. Just venting because I hate engaging with these types of people lol

Did you ever watch the unreleased episodes on Star Wars.com? They were not fully animated and looked ridiculous but I just watched them a couple weeks ago and were pretty solid stories.

I like both and Rebels is probably a little more consistent, but I think the way Clone Wars was structured gave it a little more freedom to experiment.

Wow we finally have a different opinion! I really like Rebels. Kanan is one of my favs, but I love Clone Wars infinitely more. The stories were so much more intriguing to me. The story arcs felt like mini movies. RIP Fives

The arcs with the clones behavior chips, the siege of the Citadel, Onderon, Umbara, and the Ahsoka/wrong Jedi are some of the best material in the universe. Basically mini movies, like you said.

I just finished the episode, and there's one thing I wanna ask you about because I'm kinda still working through it in my head.

I remember when you and Thomas did the TFA podcast, y'all talked about the scene where Rey and Kylo are fighting but "the ground just happens to split right between them" and how that felt kinda like a crutch escape (I'm paraphrasing obviously so correct me if I'm wrong). Did you feel the same about there "just happening" to be an escape through the rocks from that shelter?

The logic used by the crew was the "Luke had to get in from a different entrance" logic but since Luke wasn't really there, that didn't end up being true. While I understand the purpose of the rocks scene of course, I'm just wondering if you had any feelings on the coincidental presence of that exit. It's a minor detail and doesn't bother me, but it's a thought I had at the theater after the Luke illusion was figured out where I went "Hey, but then there's not another entrance".
