There is a FACPOV story about Obi-Wan becoming a Force Ghost.

I do not believe that "balance" means what you think it means. This and the other movies make it abundantly clear that balance is when light is in control. Luke said there was balance before Kylo. Lor San Tekka says, "Without the Jedi, there can be no balance." Snoke says that he saw the darkness rising in Kylo and he knew the light would rise to meet it, he thought, in the form of Luke Skywalker, but it was Rey who was given the light. Rey went into the darkside cavern, then came out rejecting the darkness. She said there was light in Kylo and that she knew it. Could you imagine Luke coming out of his cave experience in TESB and saying he had to go save Vader? He came out ready to murder fools. Rey comes out and goes directly to Luke and tells him they need to save Kylo. Balance is the light being in charge, the way I see it.

I fully disagree Rey / Luke / Yoda / Obi-Wan used the darkness.

I see this as an acting choice for Daisy more than anything.

Nah different moment. I feel like the filming and editing really makes it out to be a focus of the shot. She's center frame she cuts one down, or is about to, and just screams very intensely.

I can tell by the way you use “the darkness” that we just fundamentally disagree with what the dark side is.

Do you just see the dark side as evil? What is your perception of it?

Admittedly I may not see the light and dark side the “correct way” in this mythology as I find it analogous to yin and yang which may be the mistake I’m making.

Edit: though I think that on ach-to the mosaic reinforced my beliefs of it

Yeah was going to say, that little pool is exactly a yin an yang. Always found the force heavily influenced by Taoism.

Ya. Dark side is evil. Death is not evil. Natural violence-those waves crashing-is not evil. It's all a part of the Force. The Force IS the balance. I believe Rey clearly rejects the dark side and fights for the light.

I think saying she's light, he's dark goes against what Luke was trying to teach Rey, and why he though the Jedi needed to end. As he said it's "vanity," I think Rey's motives are fueled by the wisdom and warmth of the light side of the force, but she isn't afraid to face the dark, in Kylo, and in herself.

How about in the first Skype call when she’s like “Murderous snake!!”

And Kylo is says “ahh yes there it is again. The look you had in the forest.”

I think he’s talking about her look of pure rage / wanting to kill him.

What’s a better way to bring in the new generation of fans than creating “force Skyping” or “forcetiming”

Agreed with not absolute rage. I do see a little dark side though since emotion is basically how i see the dark side. And why the Jedi forbidding it and attachment and not let people marry and such is an imbalance.

Gotcha. And I don’t think you are wrong per say. If you think it’s evil than I understand why you think force ghosts don’t use the dark side. I don’t associate them the same way. The light isn’t good for me. Nor is the dark evil. Good and evil are just judgements based on our own bias. That’s why bad guys don’t think they are bad. They think they are the good guys.

Good in my opinion is balance between the two aspects of the force. Bad being too far on any one side. And really being too far on either side is really closer than one thinks. (Horseshoe theory)
That said I love these conversations and I don’t get to do this often so I’m having fun lol

Simply saying all emotion is the dark side is reductive and simply not what we see in the movies. Jedi show many emotions over the course of all the movies and tv shows.

Yea maybe. Maybe attachment is a better word. Though I will contest that just because we see the Jedi show emotion doesn’t mean they were right according to their code.
That was the hypocrisy. They say to have no fear and to be unattached but they were afraid themselves and attached to their own dogma.
Saying all emotion is the dark side is hypocritical of me to say though :) Only sith deal in absolutes
What do you think the dark side is?
