It’s up there with the best of he series honestly. I was pretty checked out up until they go to Scariff and from the point on I was dialed in.

I really want to see what the movie was like before reshoots. Some of the shots in the very first trailer that got left out were so cool.

He is such a good writer. You ever read his book Nothing Feels Good?

Had my second viewing today. I wanted to sit with it for a few days and watch it again before definitely saying, but I fucking love this movie. I think Rian did a masterful job, and it’s top tier Star Wars for me.

    Favorite moments:
-Poe’s X wing reverse maneuver tie fighter kills.
-Yoda’s running motion with his feet while laughing after setting the tree on fire.
-Rey and Kylo scenes in general.
-Luke and R2, particularly Luke telling him he wishes he could make him understand.
-Praetorian guard fight scene. Loved the last kill.
-When the pilot says “right away” (or something to that effect) after Kylo force throws Hux into the wall.
-Luke’s “see ya around kid” and the reveal of him floating.

  4. So glad someone else liked the X wing move!

I could probably watch Poe fly an X wing for 2 hours and it would be top tier Star Wars for me.

Yeah I hadn’t read it until earlier this year. Definitely disagree with some stuff, but I was just stoked someone wrote about “emo” in a way that wasn’t acting like the whole scene was completely ridiculous and beneath them.

The Right away line was one of the only lines that I think I found equally as funny all three times I watched it. (In the good way)

I bet Luke is gonna force ghost around Kylo more than Rey.

Favorite moments, not necessarily in order:

    - Snoke death followed by Rey/Kylo back to back
    - "Ben don't do this"... followed by "Join me... please". Both so damn heartbreaking
    - Long live the Supreme Leader
    - Rey's drop the lightsaber and grab it with the other hand kill. A lot has been made about catch & eye kill, but that move was incredible. If Kylo's eye kill was the poster dunk, Rey's drop catch was the cross over ankle breaker.
    - Hyperspace kamikaze
    - Every Rey/Kylo force conversation. Particularly the one where he tells his side of the Luke story
    - Luke/Leia "no one ever really leaves" reunion
    - Luke's daily routine
    - Luke/Rey stick fight featuring Luke using the force to stop him from falling
    - DJ's "Don't join" speech to Finn
    - Luke's force projection reveal, the brushing off the shoulder and "see ya round kid"
    - "Are you here to save my soul?" "No"
    - Yoda's final lesson for Luke
    - Leia slapping Poe and saying "dead heroes, no leaders". I loved pretty much every Poe & Leia interaction.
    - "Lifting rocks"
    - Porgs almost killing each other with Luke's lightsaber
    - kicking down the bomb remote

God damn that's pretty much all the movie haha

I just re-watched it again (number 4) and Nien Nunb was talking with Finn at the very end of the movie.

There are no Grey Jedi! It does not make sense. Jedi follow the light. Period.

Ill disagree with this. There are no "Gray Jedi" in the name. But I think the philosophy Luke taught her is to not follow any one side of the force. That was his first lesson. There isnt going to be the name "GRAY" but the "old Jedi" dies with Luke and a new Jedi order starts with Rey.

Thats the way I saw it.

**Pushes up glasses.** Actually, Anakin was created by the Force as a response to Plagueis and Sideous trying to create life and push the dark side over the top.

Ya except the line wasn't trade disputes. It was "Union dispute, you don't want to hear about it." I know everyone tries to make these new movies about the directors hating the old movies, but at least get the evidence right if you're going to make that argument.

I'm gonna force ghost myself to remind you that the prequels are canon. It's gonna be me and Hayden Christensen following you around.

@Jason Tate I tried to pay attention to the Ahch To timeline this go around. It seems like it was pretty much the same timeframe as what was happening elsewhere. All the Luke stuff, milk/fishing/etc, seemed to be one day (the day she arrived). It rained and got dark, which made the time feel weird, but still pretty sure it was just one day. That night he went to the Falcon and then told Rey they would train at sunrise. The next day had the 3 lessons, culminating in him blowing up her hut and her leaving. Day after was battle of Crait/him doing the force projection then becoming one with the force.

I think that all makes sense...
