I don't see any downsides to this. Can't wait to see other parts of the SW universe!

I decided The Last Jedi would be the second Star Wars movie I'll watch but I'm not sure I'm ready to watch that many more. Hopefully it's cool enough to make me want to

Disney is having no trouble keeping the Marvel universe going strong. They have every reason to keep the Star Wars universe an annual movie franchise.

I’m on board with anything Rian does honestly. And I just love Star Wars too much to worry about over-saturation. Like I’ve spent my whole life rewatching the OT a few times a year, reading EU books, playing video games and playing with Star Wars action figures when I was a kid and I am still not tired of it and want more. So it might as well be a filmmaker I like and respect bringing it to me!

    Word to that.

I have 100ish books that I have read and reread over the years along with constantly watching the movies. I’m even starting a rewatch of The Clone Wars. If there is an earthquake you will find me buried under SW black series figures, Funko Pops, and LEGO sets. I have SW cups, a blanket (thanks mom), posters, etc.

    I haven’t hit a point where I’m like, “nah, I don’t need more SW”. I don’t think I’ll ever hit that point.

Definitely on board with what ever this is. KOTOR could be cool, but I'm super down with something that comes completely from Rian's imagination too.

This has to mean the last jedi will be at the very least a really good movie right? I cant imagine theyd give this much power to somebody creating his whole trilogy especially after all the other director drama.

Im just so thrilled that Rian is in charge because although we havent seen TLJ, him referencing Samurai films as an influence and everything weve heard so far about the movie I just feel that hell try to expand the lore and the mythology and even just the universe of Stars into new places and less on where weve been already.

haha thats awesome. I feel like im swirling down into that Star Wars toilet bowl as we speak. It took me too long to see A New Hope in 2014 (I was 23) Since then Ive seen the OG trilogy 4 times (which will be 5 before TLJ).Ive watched the Clone Wars series twice. I just read Bloodline, Phasma, and and am almost finished with Leia which are the first books Ive read since high school because I needed more. I have Dark Discipline,Tarkin, and New Dawn on deck. I even had fucking 3 posters made from different pictures i found of Skellig Michael (Ach-To) to put in my room.

Yeah. I cant get enough and as long as they have great writers and authors and make great stories that expand what Star Wars is then keep them coming.

Dude that's awesome! Always cool to hear about people who come to it late and are immediately so hooked.

I would really suggest reading Lost Stars before any of those books. It's probably the best new canon book so far. Written by the same author as Leia if you're enjoying that one.

In all honesty, I would love to see some type of Planet Earth type documentary about animals in the Star Wars Universe. I want to see a baby tauntaun.

Yeah thats true. Im loving Claudias books so i might do that. I was thining about doing the new Luke book as well. Theres just so many. The Aftermath series. Thrawn. Ashoka. And then I kind of want to do comics eventually but thats a whole other fucking rabbit hole lol

I read those three first because they all had some relevance to TLJ. Rian had input on Bloodline so im excited to see why and also to see Laura dern play Holdo. I fucking love her. She reminds me of Luna from Harry Potter combined with April from Parks and Rec. I really hope we get to see some solid screen time with her and Leia.

What would you say are your top ones youve read besides Lost Stars?

Definitely thought of Luna for Holdo when I read her.

Lords of the Sith and Dark Disciple (Quinlan Vos was my favorite character before Ahsoka came around) are each must reads. Straight up action-packed Star Wars books. Ahsoka is my favorite character (I have a tattoo of her) so I loved that book. Thrawn was really great but don't expect fast-paced action at all, that's not really the type of character Thrawn is. Rebel Rising was actually really good as well, which is about Jyn Erso before Rogue One. Guardian of the Whills was alright, definitely worth reading. Aftermath's latter books are good, the first one was just alright. I haven't read New Dawn or Tarkin yet. Still haven't picked up the new Luke book either but will soon.

Yeah im excited to read all of those. Which is intimidating because I have a lot to catch up on lol I heard Rebel Rising was really good and Catalyst was solid which I will definitely read because I didnt really care for Jyn,Cassian in Rogue One. Have you read any of the movie novizations/thoughts on those? I got the Prequel books which Im hoping allows me to the enjoy the stories of the prequels (which I really like) without having to torture myself again with the cinematic failures of it.

New Dawn is decent. Not amazing, but I should probably reread it now that I have way more context for Kanan and Hera.

Tarkin was alright. I honestly think it spent too much time in flashbacks that didn’t add enough to justify the amount of them. Once it sticks to the present story it is highly enjoyable.

Leia: Princess of Alderrann and Bloodline are utterly brilliant.

    Lost stars was fantastic!

I found Catalyst super boring and unengaging.

Lords of the Sith was a fun read and had some good Vader stuff in both action and a look into his mind during that time.

Ahsoka was solid. Enjoyed her journey and was intrigued at the insight on how red blades come about.

I have Dark Disciple, but I hadn’t seen Clone Wars yet and decided to put off reading it. I should read it now.

Bought Rebel Rising but keep getting distracted from starting it.

I LOVED Thrawn! His intelligence is so engaging to read.

Heir to the Jedi was kind of a dissapointment. Luke learns how to move a noodle with the Force.

The Aftermath trilogy is solid. The backlash from the first book is largely from how they marketed it. Just read them knowing it takes place after ROTJ and that’s it.

Some of the young adult books were fun. Han/Luke/Leia each and one that were all good. Before the Awakening had some good insight.
