There needs to be a better acronym for Starfleet Academy. SA is not going to work for obvious reasons.

I don't think Say Anything has a presence outside of the scene.

  6. Fuck yeah, I don't care if the writing is worse than the worst of Picard and Discovery, I will watch every scene with Giamatti on screen

The tone of that Starfleet Academy trailer feels a bit too Discovery for my liking, but given the cast (and the fact that SNW was also a Discovery spinoff) I will try and stay optimistic

SNW puppet episode could be hilarious

edit: Jem Hadar cadet also has my attention

  11. That looks fun. I need to get caught up on SNW. Gotta finish Superman & Lois first. So many shows. So little time.

4 Star Trek series in the early development stages waiting to be officially greelit by the new Paramount executive team

    • Star Trek: Year One. This would be a direct spinoff of Strange New Worlds focusing on Kirk's first year as captain of the Enterprise. Akiva Goldsman reportedly plans to pitch it to the new Paramount management once SNW is winding down
    • Star Trek: United. This would be a direct followup series to Enterprise and follow Jonathan Archer as president of the Federation and would bring back Scott Bakula to the franchise. Enterprise producer Michel Sussman and Bakula previously pitched it but it was rejected, and have since revised it and plan on pitching it to Skydance.
    • Tawny Newsome's workplace comedy set within the Star Trek universe. Set in post-DS9 timeline and be a live action comedy about workers on a pleasure planet. Newsome confirmed she was working on this last year. This is still waiting for an official greenlight by the new Paramount-Skydance team.
    • Star Trek: Legacy. The long rumoured sequel to Picard about the new crew of Enterprise led by Captain Seven Of Nine. Terry Matalas confirmed he wrote 20 pages of this, but says there is no momentum on Paramount's part to get it made. He has since been poached by Marvel to run their Vision series. There is slight hope that the new Paramount execs might reverse course and make it, but it's the most unlikely of the 4 right now.

The Archer as president of the Federation one sounds awesome. Like a Star Trek meets West Wing would be cool as hell. We haven't really see the perspective of the role of the president outside of a few brief times.

Awesome SNW episode tonight. The monster ship design was so cool.

I liked it, but the ending felt more contrived to me than similar episodes in past Star Trek series. The idea that a group of humans that’s only been independent of Earth for 200 years created something far bigger and more technologically advanced than the rest of the species managed in that time already felt unlikely. But the fact that multiple species had legends about the ship means they’ve had that technology for long enough for it to be mythologized. I dunno, my suspension of disbelief didn’t quite reach far enough for this one.

Narrative based strategy/starship manager game based on Voyager. Looks awesome.
