Why? I thought it was a nice moment

 

What a lot of Trek reviewers have pointed out is "I'm Ortegas and I fly the ship!" Is all her character is right now. It's emblematic of her lack of character development.

 

I'm giving Discovery another shot. Man this design of Klingons actually would not be that bad if they were just given hair.

 

The musical episode was fantastic and that’s coming from someone who was wary of the idea when I first heard it

 

The Trekculture review I watched pointed out there was a couple of lines about "bunnies" in this, which they say is a direct reference to a song from the Buffy episode "Once More With Feeling" which is widely considered by many to be the best special musical episode ever made.

 

Yep, my wife caught that and she’s a Buffy fan. There’s no way that was coincidental lol

 

As someone who never got into Buffy my only reference for special musical episodes of TV shows has really only been the My Musical episode of Scrubs.

 

Almost done with my rewatch of part 1 of season 1 of Discovery, so right before they go into the Mirror Universe. The best episode of this batch is "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad" the one where Harry Mudd traps Discovery in a time loop so he can steal the ship.

 

Discovery is a giant blur to me but I remember that episode being great

 

Since I am getting into the Mirror Universe Discovery plot I went and watched the Mirror Universe episode of Enterprise. That alternate opening credits.. Holy shit.

 

They really pulled a Best of Both Worlds on us…

 

That was one of my top 10 Star Trek episodes of all time. Oh my god.

 

If there’s any show that’s earned that for me, it’s this one, but holy shit, it’s gonna be a long wait for next season. Having first seen the 90s shows on DVD, I’ve never experienced a season-ending Trek cliffhanger in real time, but now I know how my dad felt watching TNG 35 years ago

 

When I heard that Scottish accent I cheered for joy

 

That last 10 minutes must have been like 90% of this season's CGI budget.

 

Alright so now we got LD season 4 premiering next month, and then a longgg gap in new Trek until we get Discovery season 5 in early 2024. Then another longgg gap waiting for SNW season 3, Section 31 movie, and Starfleet Academy to finish after the strikes eventually end.

The "Animation Celebration" series of 5 animated shorts spanning all the different timelines and series, in the style of the 70's Star Trek cartoon is supposed to come out later this year but I am not sure how that has been affected by the strikes.

 

I started the animated series. Episode two seems pretty important for Spock! He has to go back in time and save himself as a kid using the time gate from City on the Edge of Forever.

 

I was so thrown off by the to be continued. I forgot that was the norm for most shows pre streaming. Huge shock and a big WTF! was uttered when it popped on screen. Absolutely flawless season. Waiting for season 3 will be painful.

 

Glad this finally got posted. My favorite song of this episode.
