I love the very specific references to shows in different timelines in this. I would never guess for a show so tied to the TOS era lore we would get name drops of Q, The Riker Maneuver, the NX-01 Enterprise, Malcolm Reed, Hoshi Sato, and the Bell Riots
This is honestly ideal for me. I’m excited for it, but I’m on vacation this week with some friends and was gonna try to use this week’s ep to get them into SNW. Figured something abnormal like a musical isn’t the best introduction lol
Regarding this Spock/Chapel plot this season I have watched some TOS episodes not too long ago where Spock and Chapel interact, and they don't seem very familiar with eachother. Also Spock and T'Prng are married at the time of Kirk's Enterprise. I was willing to bet something is going to happen with Chapel and Spock where they get memory wiped or something
I watched the LD season 4 trailer again paying more attention. Very much looking forward to the episode set on Ferenginar with Grand Nagus Rom and Leeta.
The crossover episode was awesome! I kinda expected them to be animated, but in the live action world, like Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, but this was good too.
I was watching Trekculture and he brought up the question "are we going to get musical Klingons?" and now I am even more hyped for this episode.
So this season has been fantastic but are we just not getting Sybok ? We got three episodes left for them to follow up on that thread from last season.
I have been watching random DS9 episodes recently. Last night I watched 6x19 In the Pale Moonlight, which is the one where Sisko gradually ethically compromises himself in order to get the Romulans into the Dominion War to turn the tide. Absolutely incredible episode. This is one of the one I would show people to show how different DS9 is from any other Trek series. One of Sisko's best. Also a great Garak episode.
I didn’t expect us to get a new episode today, since they shadow dropped the crossover. Today’s episode was…amazing. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. M’Benga got a ton of character development. After next week’s musical episode, this season will be one of the best in all of Star Trek.
I have long pitched the idea of a spinoff that focused on Starfleet Medical that was " Star Trek meets M*A*S*H ". This was the closest we ever got to that.
Decided to do a full on DS9 rewatch from the beginning. Watching these early episodes again made me really appreciate how truly incredible some the character development in this series is, particularly for Kira and Bashir.
Fun episode. Great songs. Uhura's "I keep us connected" song was my favorite.. Also the Klingon part lol
Yeah episode clarifies something important about the lore around Kirk and Wrath Of Khan. that he knew Carol Marcus was pregnant with David, and knew of his son's existence the entire time. I think a lot of fans assumed he found out about David for the first time in Wrath Of Khan. I already see Trek Twitter getting polarized about this. Some hate it.
One other reference to future event in this episode that I didn't pick up on initially the Dr. Roger Korby who Chapel is going to do the Archeological Medicine fellowship with, eventually becomes Chapel's fiance as seen in TOS 1x09 "What Little Girls are Made Of"
