So apparently per Terry Matalas there was a few things that were planned but cut due to the budget Janeway was intended to be there for Seven's promotion scene. There was going to be a scene where Data interacted with Soji ( his "daughter" from season one). There was supposed to be a scene where they find the people the Changelings switched out in a dungeon where Ro was going to be revealed to have survived. Harry Kim was going to have a cameo at some point.
Would've liked all of that but happy with what we got. Also kind of happy about Q, since he's always been a favorite.
I'm very happy to never see Soji again Raffi being a prominent character the whole season was bad enough for me
I didn't like Raffi in season 1-2 either, but honestly I think this season redeemed that character for me. Excited to see her as the new Number One of the new Enterprise
Avoided this thread like the plague until I caught up on and finished Picard. I will freely admit that was a LOT of fan service, but…I am one of said fans and I loved every minute. Plus they actually let the characters grow! And the actors act!
I didn’t think S2 was that bad. It felt more Trek than the first one with the whole time travel thing, but it was also a bit of a cover band vibe
Triple post: People are really ridiculous about reading politics into shit like this sometimes. Is the only the old people are immune from this new Borg transporter scheme meant to say the boomers have always been right and the kids are all evil or just maaaaaaaybe could it be that the actors who play these deeply beloved characters responsible for Star Trek still existing as a franchise today are all fuckin' old. Like, Occam's fuckin' Razor, guys.
Lower Decks is honestly worth the Paramount+ subscription all by itself. Best Trek I’ve seen in a minute.
I initially wrote LD off as being another Rick and Morty clone, but man it really is just a gigantic love letter to Star Trek and along with SNW is the "most Star Trekky " of the Nu Treks.
I really need to take the time to get into Prodigy. I have heard tonally it is all over the place. It goes from "Clone Wars but Trek" to "typical kid's action cartoon", to " Voyager: The Next Generation " People have said that once it found it's footing as a Voyager sequel is when it starts to get real good.
Also I wonder if this year's First Contact Day was a letdown because they're trying to make Picard Day a thing now.
Has anyone played Star Trek: Resurgence yet? It just got released a few weeks ago, and I have heard almost nothing about it from Trek fandom yet.
Also as of a few days ago Paramount+ has all of the Star Trek movies again. Currently watching Voyage Home. I watched Avatar Way of Water the other day and wanted more alien whale content.
