Watched latest Picard last night, before the credits rolled I was thinking it was easily a top nu-trek episode episode for me and bam - Directed by Jonathan Frakes. The man just gets it
Need to catch up on Picard. Really liked first season, need to power through Season 2. Maybe while I'm on vacation this next week.
Progress on my Voyager Borg arc binge. So far I have watched Unity, Scorpion, The Raven, Drone, Dark Frontier, and am currently watching Survival Matrix. I got Collective, Child's Play, Unimatrix Zero, and Imperfection after that. Still debating if I should save Endgame until I have covered more story arcs.
Watched up to Child's Play. That part in season 1 of Picard with Seven's ex-Borg friend is so much sadder now
I will do Kazon, Hirogen, , Year of Hell, and the other few Species 8472 episodes before I get into the character centric episodes. Definitely looking forward to binging all the Torres, Paris, and The Doctor episodes.
Like most I do not care for Neelix, but also I really don't like Chakotay so far. I think its just the actor. Like if you are a human character in Star Trek and you come across as more emotionless and dry than the Vulcan, Borg, and Hologram that is a problem.
The problem is that he expected more out of his role and didn't get it so he absolutely refused to even try. It's a pretty well known fact about the actor that he did not like his time on the show, and it showed very clearly in his performance.
Just watched Picard s3e4, I’m loving this season. Every time Riker is onscreen feels like the old shows
Done with the Borg arc. Now doing the Hirogen arc. Currently on the 2 parter Hirogen Nazi holodeck episode. Going to do The Pathfinder and Q Civil War arcs after that. Then try to push through the bagillion early seasons Kazon episodes.
Also going thru voyager for the first time, i've seen a bunch of one offs but never gone through it. I love how many of the first couple seasons are just "wtf there's something from earth in the delta quadrant?????" and its usually a trap or something
Doing the main story arc episodes in the first couple season now. Mainly Kazon, Phage, Maquis, Seska stuff. Decided to push through and get those out of the way before I do anything else . I love Tom Paris' evolution from initially being a failguy piece of shit at the start of the series.
I like: Janeway, Paris, The Doctor, B'Elanna I am indifferent so far on: Tuvok and Seven I do not like: Neelix, Kes, Chakotay, Kim
Honestly?? Chakotay is really the only one that bothers me so far but I'm only through two seasons. My dad used to HATE the doctor when we would watch this when i was a kid but I have since learned that we now have very different ways of watching Star Trek. One time I pointed out some silly space food to him and he was like "huh I didn't even notice" and at that moment I knew we were getting very different things out of this show
Also I think I just forgot to finish the first season of SNW? Was there a break after episode 5 or something? Maybe I just stopped opening the paramount app and forgot. But it's great and I love it!
The Kes/Neelix romance is so fucking weird and unbelievable. Like did the Voyager writers ever think " maybe we should explain to the audience what this young pretty psychic girl finds attractive about this much older grotesque annoying weirdo" ?
