I still love Voyager. One of the great series ends ever. TNG is also amazing. DS9 never connected with me. On fence about new series. Love me some new Star Trek, but sort of bored of the earlier timeline and was hoping they'd go back to Deep Space 9/Voyager timeline.
Also just reading the news about Fuller. Damn I was actually gonna get CBS's shitty streaming service so I could watch a Fuller lead Star Trek series, now I'll just wait to hear how it's going I guess.
'Star Trek: Discovery' casts 'Walking Dead' actress as star — EXCLUSIVE Sonequa Martin-Green is the lead.
‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Premiere May Be Delayed; James Frain Cast As Spock’s Father They're not committing to a May date for the series like they've previously talked about and James Frain is cast as Sarek.
Discovery has been pushed back to an ominous "late summer/early fall" date. Production sounds to be going well though. Star Trek: Discovery will remain docked a little while longer
I'm fine with that. Let them take however much time they need, it's good to see that CBS is flexible instead of forcing them to stick to a predetermined date/period.
Trying to keep expectations low. Trailers looks decent, but I'm not going to judge anything based on that - plot wise, it seems hurriedly thrown together. The CGI looks great, ship interiors look good, costumes look good. I don't have a problem with the new looking Klingons - if anything, they're trying to make them look even more alien since so many of the costumes back in the day were simple prosthetics taped on to the actor's head. I'll probably pay for CBS All Access but only because I want to show CBS support in launching a new Star Trek series - Enterprise needed multiple seasons to get its act together. Even TNG wasn't really what we love until season 2. CBS needs to give the series a long look and if Trekkies like me who were raised on it don't show up then they definitely won't get any kind of general public to tune in and keep the show alive.
