Been making my way through LD trying to get caught up before season 3 starts later this month. Love this quote so much. " I'm sorry i gotta be honest I didn't sign up for Starfleet to get into phaser fights. I joined to explore, to be out in space making new discoveries and finding peaceful diplomatic solutions, that's boldly going. You know what? i'd love to be in a string quartet. I love that when Riker was on the Enterprise he was out there jammin on the trombone, and acting in plays, and meeting his identical transporter clone Thomas. That stuff may not seem as cool as what you guys do but it's Starfleet all the way "
Yeah to be honest i was initially skeptical of the concept of LD at first but this is probably my 2nd favorite of "nu-trek" after SNW. I mean it's pretty much a giant loveletter to the franchise itself. Like I can't imagine how someone who is just a casual Trek fan or a non-fan views this show, they gotta miss majority of the jokes/references.
The Zefram Cochrane stuff in the LD premiere had me giggling with delight. So cool they got Cromwell reprise his role.
Honestly I don't really mind this being scrapped. Was never really into the Kelvin timeline stuff and I feel like this franchise should do something entirely different if they go on the big screen again.
I would like more Kelvin stuff because I think it offers an opportunity to take Trek we already know in interesting and different directions, and we already have so many shows exploring the Prime timeline.
