Everyone told me Final Frontier was the worst of TOS movies but...this thing is pretty entertaining. Like, bad, yes, but amusingly so.
I’m still holding out hope that Picard will finally GO SOMEWHERE and not spin its wheels for 8 episodes
Yeah, I definitely preferred Lower Decks and Discovery. I liked that they continued what happened after JJ’s movie, but I didn’t like that it was more about Data.
I didn’t mind it being about Data. Data’s story is the heart and soul of TNG and the whole through line. What bugged me was like 7 flashback episodes about the past of characters we’ve barely met in the present
I’ve seen a few episodes here and there and a good chunk of TNG, but watching the TOS movies along with Blank Check made me really want to go back and just try and watch EVERYTHING. Is there a good TOS watch-along podcast? The two I know about are both TNG. I know about that one from Nerdist that’s been around forever but I remember the hosts being kinda boring.
I’m not a big podcast person, but I’d like that. Btw, you don’t need at watch TOS in any order. It’s all stand-all episodes. The rest of the series on the other hand...
I'd agree, even though III isn't a favorite of mine it still has that wonderful stealing and destroying the Enterprise sequence. I think the first one is insanely underrated though. It's like Malick-in-space. It's just so objectively beautiful AND it has the series' guiding spirit of exploration and the unknown at heart.
The first one can be pretty rough, but it does have some nice shots. And I love all the Vulcan stuff in III. One of my favorite things about Trek is all the lore behind different species.
It also has one of the great Shatner line deliveries. My family jokingly do "You Klingon bastard, you killed my son" a LOT.
Weirdly enough TOS is the only Star Trek series I’ve never seen. I’ve watched the movies, but I’ve never run through the series even though I know it’s short compared to most of the others.
