Yep. It’s almost night and day in many regards how much better they got at just writing songs. Huge jump.
Hard disagree, both records are fantastic from a songwriting perspective. Main difference is the embrace of synth elements and a more varied approach to chord progressions while still staying in the pop punk framework.

I really like this record. My only real gripe is how she say's "dino-SAUR". That being said, the chorus is always stuck in my head.. so while being annoying to me, it's also really good.

My biggest problem continues to the repetitive words in the chorus of “Soap”. “Andyougotandyougotandyougot” “TillIfeeltillIfeeltillIfeel” Ruins the entire song for me, and the song otherwise is incredible.
You guys have the weirdest qualms haha love both of those! The looping of the Soap chorus is cool because it sounds like it’s an electronic loop before the release of the last phrase
Yeah I can't get that soap hate, soap and jurassic park are my top 2 here and I love the chorus on Soap, I can't help but song along!
Not hate at all - I love the song. Chorus just is really grating for me...it’s the only part of the record that I don’t really like
Record is on repeat for me as we lose daylight. It’s sunshine and bubble gum sounding, even if the lyrics can be heavy. That’s good enough in 2020.
I’ll echo the broken record about the Jurassic chorus: if she said “saur” the same way as “before” in the prior verse, it eliminates the cringe. It’s the drop in pitch/flat tone that throws it for me. I don’t think I would mind it if she did it ONCE though. I mean, having said that, the song is still an absolute banger!
I still go back to this album a lot. New song is pretty decent and is a nice change of pace for a standalone single.
