Hell yes they have. I am thoroughly impressed. I preordered around noon because they accidentally had the preorders up early for like 5 minutes lol
The mixing on this continues to drive me crazy, mostly in the sense that I can’t figure out what’s different from the last record. The guitars sound a bit muffled and the drums, cymbals specifically, sound more buried behind the mix after playing a song from both records back to back. Curious who mixed/produced this Songs are great though
I didn't think all that much of the songs after Hate Me but Jurassic Park is much more on the level of the first album imo. Excited for this album.
I'm fairly over new pop-punk by this point, five years ago I would've been crazy about an Australian pop punk band getting this much hype. Having said that, still mildly optimistic this might be a really good album.
one of the most exciting newer pop punk bands around right now. Can't wait for this album but wish they hadn't released half the album already
Shhh, Hate Me! and Wavelength are all great. Not sure on the new one but I'm sure it will grow on me. Excited to hear this, I don't listen to much straight pop punk anymore but these guys definitely hit that mark for me.
Music video Bonnie's vocals on this are awesome. I dig the guitars too. Also, could we update the thread title to match the proper formatting? Stand Atlantic - Pink Elephant (August 7, 2020) (A very minor thing, I know lol)
Album is going to rip, all of these songs are massive step up on a very good album. Band know exactly what works, and really leaning into those elements. fully expecting this to be my favorite pop punk record of the year
Listening to the “ep” is really solidifying how much these new songs absolutely slap. They’re fucking heavy too
