Yeah I'm out. Their spin on pop punk was so energetic and fun and pretty unique. I get trying new things and branching out and gaining more fans and getting more streams etc etc. Not sure this shift is gonna do it, but I wish them all the best.
Honestly I've liked all the songs so far! Especially Warz0ne, but even Sex On Beach had a great chorus despite the disjointed verses. Excited for this one!
Yeah, I feel the same way overall. Whatever direction they have been going in recently is not for me at all. I’ll give this a listen but not expecting much.
unsurprisingly pvris is the highlight of that song, but yeah i've been off this hype train for a good long while and not hopping back on
The new tracks have been very hit or miss for me, but I like this new one a lot. Pre-ordered the glow-in-the-dark vinyl. Fingers crossed for an album with more bangers than duds!
Awful cover and no need for 5 month rollout. Pink Elephant and prior still hit, but this ain’t it for me anymore.
I really liked a lot of the songs off Skinny Dipping. Even enjoyed a handful off f.e.a.r. but these singles and the new album details are just a further indication they're doubling down on this more awkward, edgy version of the band that kinda just comes across as silly and juvenile. I'll even give them credit for moving towards a heavier sound even if I don't think it fits them the best, but these two and a half minute songs with seemingly forced obscenities are more cringey than empowering or whatever they're going for.
I've been listening to them since 2017 and i wouldn't say that! i still got my sidewinder EP on vinyl :)
whipped up a new thread for the new album! Stand Atlantic - Was Here (August 23, 2024) • forum.chorus.fm
