So what happens if you don’t like a particular record of the month? I guess that’s my main hang up right now. I’ve gone through the archive and I’d say I’d be happy with at least half the records they have sent out. But not sure what I’d do with the ones I don’t care for.
They have a swap option where you can swap out the record of the month for a previous record of the month or other random records they throw in the selection.
As somebody else already said, there’s a substantial swap feature that you have access to if you sign up for a 3 month or longer subscription
Actually swaps are even available for the one month subscription right now, that's what I'm on and I was able to swap last month and this month. I think it's a new thing they are trying out.
Los Ageless and New York have grown on me a lot. I love Happy Birthday Jonny and Fear The Future. And the ending of Young Lover, whew
So is the deluxe worth it? I can still cancel and just order the standard (and use money to buy Marry Me, which I still don’t own on wax)
There aren’t any songs on here that tickle me like “Strange Mercy” or “Prince Johnny” do. But this is still very very good
Wow. Watched that “unboxing” video of the deluxe. Yikes. I ended up subscribing to a month by month subscription of vinyl me please to get the alternate cover vinyl.
The tour looks like its gonna be great. She is doing a few songs from each album and then playing the new one straight through.
This album is really good. I love that she stayed very much herself while making her most mainstream record. And her guitar playing remains excellent.
Hmmmm soooo I'm not huge on this. It's good, but I don't see myself returning to it often. Something feels like it's missing, and I can't quite pinpoint it.
Sorry to hear that. I very nearly got it the week leading up to release but held off and kind of forgot about it. It was definitely a creative risk that just didn’t seem to pay off.
I don’t own it, so I’ve never held it, but the way it just kind of unraveled in the unboxing video I saw would irk me. lol
This record is just too good from top to bottom to be anything other than an AoTY contender. “Slow Disco” is currently my jam.
