I read this multiple times and have to ask, what song is t/t, I don't see anything on the tracklist it could be

The SOPHIE lyrics are bad.

 

Diamonds of the Night is so fucking good

 

Just threw this on and the first song is immediately more appealing to me than anything from the last two or three records what a great song to kick this off with

 

this is fine. i only heard the first single in the lead up to release, so i guess my expectations were for it to be heavier. it's got a lot of subtleties i enjoy, but i figured this was the rock album she talked about making for years, when that clearly isn't the case. it'll hopefully grow on me with more listens.

yeah I fuck with this hard, way more than the previous two (which I liked!)

 

yeah this is great. Not exactly what i was expecting, but still very good.

 

It's not quite what I expected after Broken Man and Flea, but I really love it already.

 

Violent Times is def a banger

 

"So Many Planets" jumped out to me because I never expected to hear St Vincent do reggae-adjacent

 

yeah, So Many Planets is the early standout for me

 

so many planets sounds like something from one of david byrne’s solo albums. like i even checked to make sure he wasn’t performing on it lol

 

I've honestly never gotten that into St Vincent but this album is so sick

 

Referring to her as "my Sophie" when (acc to her RS interview) they never met.... that's certainly a choice

 

“Hell is Near” sounds like “Aerials”

 

I like this a lot. A solid 8 for me

 

Solid album, but after hyping it up as her rock record, besides the singles, it's definitely more subdued than that

 

I'm kinda glad I avoided listening to the singles for this because I'm really happy with the entire thing. feels like a pretty cohesive project with an intentional side A/B split to me? I dunno, rock doesn't just mean big guitars y'all

 

It’s absolutely more subdued but I really appreciate it coming off the last two albums

 

This gets better with each listen, the second half actually is a stand out for me now
