Been thinking a lot lately about how much these games rocked... I would still rank SSX 3 as one of my all time favorites. Amazing atmosphere, soundtrack, gameplay... just a freaking rad game. Amazing design for its day... The follow up had a cool vibe, still fun, but made some bad changes IMO and then it seemed like the series kind of fell off from there. Saw this interview the other day though, it’s fairly recent, and fingers crossed... seems like there’s may be some interest in bringing the series back!
I still consider Tricky one of my favorite games of all time. Countless hours put into the slops of Garibaldi, Alaska, Hawaii, etc.
Tricky was the start for me... loved it for sure, had its own feel... but SSX 3 and just the wholistic thing that it was, blew my mind. And starting with like SSX 3, On Tour, and Burnout 3 especially... those EA soundtracks back in the day shaped me, I feel like. I started snowboarding all around that time too. EA was dope back then mannnn lol.
And the soundtracks on all of those games...played a huge role in shaping my tastes into what they are today. I’d pay any amount of money to be able to bomb it down a mountain with Way Away by Yellowcard blaring.
Thank you for making this thread , 3 is also one of my favorite games ever. I don’t even wanna know now many hours I put into it back in the day haha. I can’t even remember what system I played it on...GameCube I think?
I wish they would reboot this and bring it back. Ssx was amazing back in the day. This and cool boarders. I preferred cool boarders but both where solid
I played on GC too... now I have the game on Xbox One (back compatible) and it looks better than ever but I gotta say I still prefer the feel of the game/buttons on the GC controller. The tweaking is just a little weird on Xbox. But yeah man, same boat. I would come home from school everyday and just free run the mountain over and over, day after day... the gameplay was just so good.
I imagine them remastering this and any/all NBA Street games would be huge for EA. I'd buy any and all in a heartbeat.
