I would say there is no reason this needs to be season 3. This could have easily been part II of a 13 episode final season. It's a direct continuation of second season's story.
I dunno about that last half of the series finale Anytime we leave the island/games this show goes ice cold
Cate Blanchett as the American recruiter opening the way for the US version of the show at the very end. Wow wasn't expecting that lol
I saw how everything ended in the game was going to play out coming from a few episodes prior but it still hit hard and was pretty good. It's just the follow-through after that, that didn't land with me that much. Mostly because the detective and the north korean guard were characters/plots I cared least about and that is who primarily the last 20 minutes of this series focused on.
I honestly enjoyed season 2 more than this one. I felt like they killed off all the best characters by episode 2 or 3 so the rest of the season wasn't as interesting and felt a bit empty
I thought halfway through when it became more about Seong protecting the baby was pretty interesting though. I feel like them killing off all the other "good" characters that would have assisted him was purposeful to get to that point.
Just finished S3. No where near as good as S1 or S2. Didn’t like the ending or the inclusion of the baby. I guess we’re getting an American squid game next.
I don’t see anything official? Source? An American version is reportedly in the works: There are reports that director David Fincher is attached to an English-language spin-off series. However, this hasn't been officially confirmed by Netflix.
now that it's all over, i think these two season were unnecessary and they should have kept it as a single season
I actually cared the most about the detective's plot, as I was really keen on him finding the island and confronting the boss dude and shutting down the games or whatever, haha
Thinking on the events of S3, it really made S2 and onward pointless. Seong rejoined the games to end them. The games are continuing and Seong is dead The former police officer wanted to find the island. Once he did the bad guy left and no one was even arrested or any evidence gathered So basically if you took away S2 and S3 the games would still be continuing in America
I could see the American spin off including a subplot in which Gi-hun’s daughter gets involved to find answers. Front man either added the bloody clothes out of respect or to stoke curiosity. I’m leaning towards the latter.
