I wonder if anyone on this website has really thoroughly discussed the binge model vs. the weekly release model. Could be a healthy discussion.
I'm all for binging; I have no patience waiting to see further episodes of any show. Why I like movies more than TV shows - getting an entire story in two hours is awesome.
Just finished episode 3. I thought the first episode was great, but now that we’re seemingly just back doing straight up squid games i’m a little less interested. Was hoping there would be a bigger swing this season, hoping thats still the case
Yeah I'm hoping the group of dudes outside the island remain involved with the storyline somehow. However, a 3rd/final season has already been confirmed, so chances the rest of this season is just more of the same games as the 1st season remains high.
Finished the whole thing in one go tonight after work. Loved it and really glad it’ll be less than a year to get season 3.
I wish #11's arc had some kind of payoff in the end of the season. I like that the second game was basically Mario Party
I’m doing one episode per day. I tried to get my friends to join so that we can can discuss/theorize but no one really seems to care to do that lol In terms of online communities, I think weekly drops are best. It always everyone involved with the fandom to get a chance to watch it before their online feed fills up with spoilers.
What a slog. I even rewatched season 1 to hype myself up. Thought this was pretty bad and call me uninformed but I had no idea this was only part 1 of the seasonn (or just a short season 2 with not even close to a satisfying ending or cliffhanger). The cop storyline continues to bury the show... more this season than ever. It takes two full episodes until we get back in the game. The "vote to leave" sequences were painfully repetitive. No new character introduced is given any sort of actual back story. Just soooooo slow. Disappointed
I liked a few of the new characters. The trans character was really well done. The old lady was really adorable. The guy playing Thanos did a great job.
Yeah, I thought that was a bit of a slog as well. I liked the last episode, but I don’t think this did anything particularly new or interesting. also get fucked with these “bridge seasons” that don’t even tell a complete story. Worst trend in TV right now
It kind of makes me think of anime and multiple cours, although I guess typically the cour ends with some kind of arc closure.
yeah, most single cour runs still have a solid ending even if it’s obvious it will continue (other than Dandadan…)
I only watched the first episode but wasn't exactly enthralled. Based on the comments here I think I'll wait until the rest of the episodes are out and see what the response is then.
Yeah apparently they filmed S2 and S3 at the same time and they said S3 is "sometime in 2025" and after just now finishing S2 I really don't like how it literally is just half a season. They really should have just released both and had a longer S2.
They took so long to make S2 and for it to come out. I was thinking about canceling my Netflix subscription but waited around for S2 only to not be impressed.
