Honestly surprised there wasn't a thread for this already! I'm on Episode 5 now and really enjoying it.
Just finished Alice in borderland. I wish I watched it sooner. The only reason I didn’t is because it’s harder for me to focus with Japanese than it is with Korean (I can actually focus the best with Korean than any language besides English of course lol) and read subs. And dubs suck, no matter which international show or movie I’m trying to watch. The dub voice actors sound like they’re in class taking turns reading a novel
Basically this first season took so long to get off the ground and made, that I think the idea of replicating that effort again is beyond him at the moment, haha. But I bet Netflix now would offer tons of help to make a 2nd season, and basically just leave the writing of it to him, and they'd take care of the rest.
He just said it sounds exhausting. Can't blame him, apparently he wrote and directed all of s1 himself
I read that the subtitles are mostly accurate and the problem is with the dub and closed captioning. Closed captioning is auto-generated and typically a mess.
I watched the show in Korean with English subs because I can’t stand dubs. I don’t know enough Korean to know how accurate the subs are, but know that many other Korean shows, some things aren’t translated “properly”
