Tossed on the Town Centre EP for the first time in a while this morning and its got me even more hyped for this. "The Cleaner" is one of the best songs to come out of this broader "scene." I'm really glad most of the songs on this record are around 5 minutes or more.

Totally agree! I have listened to Squid almost all day. So much that I went so hyped that I bought a ticket to their show in Stockholm (when it will happen).

Been trying to get more into post-punk and this song is very much up my alley!

Narrator is really good. The verses kinda remind of Foals during Antidotes. The song derailes in the end. I like that!
New song Pamphlets has been released. Another banger. This band deserves more hype!

  14. Pamphlets grooves so hard - 90s Isaac Brock delivery is delightful. Immediately one of my favourite songs Squid have released so far

  15. This is so sick. Dan Carey (produced this, worked with black midi, Franz Ferdinand, Bat for Lashes, and Fontaines D.C.) is playing guitar with them here!

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I've heard a few songs here and there, like them a fair bit and love "Houseplants" but I haven't done a deep dive on their stuff yet. guess this will be a good place to start!

this is some good shit, even if they wear the Talking Heads influence a little too blatantly sometimes, still fuck with it. "Pamphlets" is massive

this has me working through their back catalogue and damn, Town Centre is a perfect little EP. think I prefer it to the album

also "Broadcaster" might be my favourite song from these lads overall
