My favorite part was when it flashed backed to him as a kid going to a mansion on a hill with his dad and then it cuts to him writing mansion on a hill. Riveting stuff.

Is there a scene where Bruce is watching news of the early 80's Philly mob wars and is like "I got an idea for a song!" ? lol

I quite liked this; my Oslo IMAX screening was crazily nearly sold out. People here love anything that brings Americana vibes their way

First half felt quite surface level, but it got a bit deeper the 2nd half, which helped give it heft. Seeing Born being played in the studio brought a smile to me

Make a music biopic about We Are The World recording session and cast a bunch of actors from other music biopics.

You can get JAW as Bruce, Chalamet in old man Dylan makeup, whoever they cast in that Michael Jackson biopic next year. You even can throw in some throwbacks, like Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles and Angela Bassett as Tina Turner. Get the dude who played Dan Aykroyd in Saturday Night to awkwardly stand in the back.

Just got home after seeing Deliver Me From Nowhere, it was alright but Walk Hard is still the gold standard when it comes to music biopics!

Walk Hard is the best music biopic.
Bohemian Rhapsody might be the funniest parody

"I know it probably sounds like I hated this movie, but I didn’t. It was fine. I’m a little too familiar with the source material for me to just be at ease watching it, and although there were scenes that made me roll my eyes, I was genuinely moved on occasion as well."

perfectly said lol, my exact feelings. thought this was just exactly fine. Probably not super rewatchable, but i still enjoyed it.

As someone who has consumed thousands upon thousands of hours of Bruce content in my life, music, concert DVDs, documentaries, interviews, books....this movie is awful lol

Yeah I was wondering how the die-hard would take this film, haha. I guess it’s very much more directed towards the lay person who doesn’t know much about Bruce, other than his biggest hits

I’m a casual Bruce fan and I knew pretty much everything that happened in this film. If you listen to music at all I feel like you know the story behind recording Nebraska.

Seeing this later in the week, and feeling woefully NOT excited for it, given the response. Having read the book this is based on, I really don't see how it could be a super cinematic story.

I understand what they were going for but I think they portray the band in a super weird way and maybe a hot take but I think JAW's performance was good however he didn't capture Bruce's essence really. Idk there were so many moments in the movie that reminded me of Walk Hard absolutely torching this kind of movie. Whoever summed it up by saying the movie in a nutshell is Bruce sees a mansion on a hill then proceeds to write Mansion on the Hill is pretty spot on lol.
