If it's actually based on the Warren Zanes book, which is very much about the process of making Nebraska and is generally pretty light on mythmaking bullshit, this movie should be great. Hard to tell from that trailer, though. (Which, as a die-hard Bruce fan, I still enjoyed!)

Apparently JAW does 100% of his own singing and a lot of his own guitar playing in the movie

Cautiously optimistic. The whole “I know who you are” / “That makes one of us” and “Bruce is repairing the hole in the floor and then the hole in the world” was some borderline Dewey Cox shit but whatever. Music biopic gonna music biopic. JAW and Jeremy Strong look great.

Elliott Smith biopic also seems like an inevitably

I explained the "he needed to make an album as personal and intimate as Nebraska before he could make something as huge as Born In The USA" thesis of this movie to my huge Bruce fan dad, and he called bullshit revisionism because Bruce was already huge at the time from Born to Run 7 years prior.

He's a big "Born in the USA was a step down his previous work" 70's Springsteen era guy I guess.

Born in the USA fucking rules, and I will accept no other take.

I can't see it. Smith didn’t have that strong commercial appeal. Dylan and Springsteen are huge names for the older people, and Nirvana is getting to that age now.

    A Jagger/Richards one probably happens.

Fleetwood Mac biopic is an eventuality as well

Wasn't very impressed with the trailer, but I have been humming Nebraska to myself ever since I saw it so maybe it did it's job.
