Spotlight is a 2015 American biographical drama film directed by Tom McCarthy and written by McCarthy and Josh Singer. The film follows The Boston Globe's "Spotlight" team, the oldest continuously operating newspaper investigative unit in the United States and its investigation into the widespread child sex abuse cases in the Boston area. It is based on a series of stories by the real Spotlight Team that earned The Globe the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. The film stars Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, John Slattery, Stanley Tucci, Brian d'Arcy James, Liev Schreiber, and Billy Crudup.

I watched it for the first time on a flight and was surprised by how emotional it got me. I wanted to find more fault with it, but it was great.

I enjoyed this movie. Ruffalo is the man! Great cast all around.

This was really good I thought. I know a lot of people on AP said this was Oscar bait, but it was a really engrossing watch.

My favorite movie from last year. I'm waiting for a good time to rewatch it on Netflix
