Ooh weeh. Really this playlist is just some of my overall most played new songs of the last few years, regardless of season, plus all the songs I have had in heavy rotation since I was a teenager lol A lot of 00s rap and R&B on this one
I am convinced somebody from Parquet Courts works for Spotify. I don't like that band. I dislike them EVERY TIME they show up in a mix. and Spotify keeps ramming them down my throat. I could listen to some of the most obscure, weirdest Mongolian Throat singing, Gregorian chant kind of shit and Spotify would be like "If you like this, you'd love Parquet Courts!" They need to let us block artists
My Spotify stans Carly rae jepsen. I make themed playlists but just for songs and albums that I'm into at the moment I add and save into my songs. I have a few hundred songs in there and all it will play of them is the ones off CRJ's new album. Like I hit shuffle and it's just that album. Even if I don't hit shuffle it will play that album on shuffle and nothing else. Guessing it's a glitch with the update cause it didn't do that before lol
They brought back the alphabetical scrolling on the side! Probably to disract from how terrible the UI still is but fucking yup like it bud
The new UI is seriously trash. Why don't the artists in your library all show up under artists, only the ones you follow? Also, they need to fix how the app works. I should be able to open downloaded albums on mobile when I'm not using Wi-Fi. For some reason, the app must require a connection just to open the album page.
Made the switch to Apple Music because I can’t fucking stand this UI change. Totally changes how I used it.
Eh It’s grown on me. I personally prefer this to Apple. Esp since I listen mostly in the car, and I feel it’s very easy to use while driving.
Speaking of bands that I feel must pay Spotify - The band Sure, Sure shows up for me all the time. Never heard of them prior.
One of the hosts of the My Favorite Murder podcast mentioned them a long time ago, said they were one of her favorite bands.
Has anyone else’s mobile app made some of the album images smaller on the front page? I like it, I just don’t know if I’ve made them smaller on my own somehow haha
Just to clarify, if you "heart/star" a song in Spotify, you're essentially telling Spotify you like the characteristics of that song, and therefore Spotify will use that data to recommend future songs, such as through your Discover Weekly playlist? Or does clicking the Heart icon have no effect whatsoever on that?
One thing I've noticed is when you "heart" an album, it doesn't "heart" all of the songs on the album now. It just adds the album to your albums tab. Or at least that's happening to me. When I go to "liked songs" if I have just pressed "heart" on an album, it doesn't show up in "liked songs". Which is sort of annoying.
Gotcha, for me I'd like it to auto "heart" all of the songs instead having to click every song individually cause sometimes I like to shuffle my whole library when I don't know what I want to listen to.
So if I try to use Spotify on cell data (not on Wi-Fi) I lose "recently listened to..." and alphabetic scrolling. What in the actual fuck is this UI.
Siri Support and an Apple TV App. Never thought I’d see the day. I love Spotify and AM so this is good news.
I'd wish they'd bring back the feature from the early days of sending tracks to people through Spotify; so you could check your "inbox" in Spotify and see tracks people have sent you. Seems like such a logical feature to have, yet for whatever reason they took it away
