I listen to ~500 new albums a year on top of revisiting everything I love from the past, my Spotify Wrapped is almost always WAY different than what I would guess for myself. I enjoy it more than my birthday & Christmas combined
It always makes me wonder what defines a track being played 1 time. Because I'll sit for an hour & listen to one song sometimes, but instead of making a queue of that song I get to the end, rewind to the beginning, & repeat that process. I think that's just 1 "stream", even though I'm listening 20 times
Mine was under the Search Tab, it did not come up on my main home screen. Also, mine had a whole story dedicated to podcasts I listened to. I literally don't listen to podcasts.
The button didn't come up for me in the app, but if you open this 2021 Wrapped link on your phone and click where it says Listen to 2021 Highlights Here it should bring you to the feature and the two playlists in the app. 1. Bleachers 2. Nirvana 3. Weezer 4. Rostam 5. Waxahatchee Seems like 80% right to me, but there were some oddities. 60 Songs That Explain the 90s didn't make my podcast list despite that being like 30-40 hours of listening I know I did this summer, and Song Exploder which I've listened to maybe 5-10 times total did. Also really strange lack of Adrianne Lenker/Big Thief and Taylor on my songs playlist, which pretty much can't be right with how much I listened to Evermore and Songs & Instrumentals over the winter. I also wouldn't have guessed I listened to Van Weezer and OK Human enough for them to crack my top 5 artists (and am a little embarrassed they did lol), but maybe having 2 new albums in a quiet part of the year for me did it.
Once again, my most listened to genre is apparently pop punk when there are 0, and I mean literally zero pop punk artists or songs in any given metric or playlist it made me. There’s a lot of data that seems accurate but I’m always amazed at the stuff that gets left out
Surprised to see Twenty One Pilots and Adjy there. Also wouldn't have thought Oragami Angel was number 1 overall although I played it nonstop for a while after it came out.
I think this is mostly because their genre classification is bad. There is likely stuff on those lists they think is pop punk.
My top song was only 14 streams, I definitely listened to one Jimmy Eat World song more than that in the last week using that method
