This article has been imported from chorus.fm for discussion. All of the forum rules still apply. Spotify’s Wrapped is now live, as is Apple Music’s version called Replay. As a longtime Last.fm user and evangelist it’s always interesting to see how these stats compare to my extremely diligent scrobbling. Apple Music got my “most played song” completely wrong. But I do find these “top artist/albums” by month graphics pretty cool (but, still not correct when compared to what I scrobbled). I shared my stats below, and I’ll post the actual numbers after the year’s over in our end of the year feature. more Not all embedded content is displayed here. I always enjoy these. Would be cool if there ways a way to get your replays from the 00's (opens storage closest, pulls out massive CD binder).
So interesting that they get it wrong - how does that happen? You’d think you’d be more accurate if it’s on that actual platform! Wonder how many other people notice this.
It seems accurate for the most part, but no way I listened to Polka Face by Weird Al 987 times, 500 max.
I do wish there was more of a description of how they figure out this info. Is it just that one app or site counts half a song differently than another? Like if you start playing it again that counts as another play when another doesn't? That's what I figure it must be. I would also like to know when they cut it off for the stats and why. I understand why they release it so early in December because will play Christmas music but I'm pretty sure there is music that I played the last week that would have made the cut that did not.
I agree! Last year, I saw on the Apple Music Replay site that the information is updated weekly. It also stated the Replay playlist updates every Sunday and will continue throughout the end of the year.
It’s really cool to see how popular these lists are to share, but if the app can’t tell you what your top album was for December, it’s too early to release em.
