Apparently I seized the day with "Sad Boi Hardcore Angst". A phrase so cringey that I felt myself shed my skin like a snake.
I work with teens for my job starting this year. I’ll make them playlists on my Spotify to play in the car or on their headphones. I like being able to do that for them but it really has fucked up my listening stats both on Spotify and on Last.fm. If I go into private mode when I play their stuff, I’m guessing it won’t show up on my Spotify wrapped, but will it still show up on Last.fm?
I don’t know what qualifies as a “play” on Spotify, but Last.fm is listening to a song for half of the track time. Idk what your playlist making process is like, but if you’re just trying to sample songs and make a good flow then it should be pretty easy to avoid scrobbling them. Last.fm also allows you to manually remove scrobbles from your profile on their website, which is pretty easy. I’ve had to do that a couple of times after falling asleep with music on haha
How does last.fm work I see it brought up all the time... do I just sync my apple music to it and that's that?
the one band that I noticed across of my friends wrapped that I’m going to check out has to be Hot Mulligan.
I know with Spotify you basically just log into last.fm and give it permission to track data from Spotify, and then yeah that’s basically it. Would imagine it’s the same with Apple but not entirely sure. @Jason Tate might know - I know he uses the services in conjunction
With Spotify they have it built in to the app, I think it's in settings. With Apple Music you need to use a specific app that has it built in. on iOS I use Marvis, on my Mac there's a scrobbler called NepTunes or Scrobbles: Scrobbles for Last.fm - Sascha Simon Software That runs in the background and scrobbles when you play stuff.
I have Apple Music and I just use the last.fm app. It doesn’t automatically scrobble, but I upload them all at the end of the day.
