    Bloomberg:

The streaming giant will increase prices by about $1 to $2 a month in five markets by the end of April, including the UK, Australia and Pakistan, according to people familiar with the matter. It will raise prices in the US, its largest territory, later this year, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential plans.

Eh, I'm fine with this. I still buy the records of all the bands / albums that I really dig, so this changes nothing for me. I'll probably be "team Spotify" (vs Apple Music and the others) until I die.

Behind a paywall I think, does it say if it applies to all tiers? Think I’m paying $15-16 for a family plan currently. An extra buck or two won’t be too bad but it would be cool if it went down once!

Price rise should be higher I think, on the basis that the extra revenue goes towards the artists

I know this is crazy but I could see paying an extra $6 bucks and I wouldn't be upset. Spotify provides a great service. $1 towards operations, it costs money to run and I would rather see people keep their jobs and maybe hire more people. Hopefully that revenue increase would future proof it for a bit too.
    $5 directly to the artists.

It's crucial that artists benefit from these changes. Personally, I'm a huge fan of artists like Adele and Ed Sheeran, whose music has made a big impact. If you're an aspiring artist looking to grow your presence on Spotify, you can buy spotify plays from real people here. It could be a worthwhile investment to increase your visibility and reach a wider audience.
