thats sick! I am missing 4 only from Base Set shitty thing is over the years, I HAD all of em at various points
lol damn Charizard is still king after all these years. I think he has Alakazam. He just buys packs of the new stuff and rips them and trades whatever he gets for old stuff because he doesn't care about new cards lol
Lucky duck. I was trying for over an hour. No luck. App logged me out and “add to cart” on the site never worked one time. I got one from Best Buy’s invite a month or so ago at least. I was def going to open the one I have now if I got 1-2 of Sam’s. But now I just may hold. Use it as trading fuel in the future.
Closest Sam's is in another state 8 1/2 hours away for me. Couldn't justify a +membership with how scuffed drops are but at least my best buy SPC comes in today I'd definitely hold it for trades. The 3 SPC's I've opened were the worst hit rates of the set for me, and I've opened toooooo much of Prismatic
Got 2 SPCs from last night's drop. Gonna let the six year old open one since he's pretty obsessed with Prismatic and hold the other until Christmas at the latest, but I might trade it for something else. It will get ripped this year.
Sounds like Gamestop will probably be paused since they just do value bulk submissions I think the minimum level you'll be able to do is 80 bucks a card on your own so I'll be taking a break
Cards look better in a binder anyway. (but I get submitting - wish I already submitted some previously just to have some extras of my vintage stuff in a slab)
been debating sending some of my bigger cards and just paying up for the higher level, but also scared of putting them in the mail period
I THINK my 1st Edition Rocket Dark Charizard would grade high. 8-9 possible. No chance it’s a 10. (Maybe?). Also no chance I’m putting that in the hands of the postal service. That’s $17,000 in a 10. I would love to be able to drive to a grading service. Even several hours away. Drop them off. And come back at to pick up later.
I'm of the mindset that grading is risky and a bit of a scam because it's entirely subjective so...it is what it is from my end. Just my odd personal beliefs.
Also here’s some card pickup from the shop yesterday. Found a lot of bulk I needed for Gym Hero’s trainers. SHOCKED I found the holo rainbow energy. That team rocket’s hideout trainer with the gengar is so sick. I mainly go for cards of Pokémon I know and also have cool art. Sleepy Charizard I only paid $45 because minor imperfections and centering is bad off. Black star WOTC jigglypuff promo I think he missed it in my stack since he only charged me $3 for all that bulk vintage. Traded in some sealed stuff toward this as well as some old vintage bulk (some decent 1st edition extras I had). and only paid $75 out of pocket. With me paying MSRP for the sealed I had, I did well.
I only do it cause Gamestop does it and they're good people at my store. Shipping from and to a business I'm fine with. I could never put them in the mail myself lol
Got this back today. Pulled it in 97 myself, never expected a 10, it's just my favorite Griffey. Only 40 out of 470 graded have gotten tens. 1500 dollar card now lol
Thats sick. I have some old "sports cards" in a tin somewhere. I think baseball. I'm hoping I can find them. Had them since the early 1990s.
On Chaos Rising release day I was only able to pick up 2 single packs. I’ve managed so far to get 3 blasters of Bowman Baseball and I got one autograph so far of a low tier Royals prospect but still an auto is an auto. yesterday my pokemon plug texted me the Walmart near my house had a massive restock and sure enough I could have grabbed so much cause it was still 6:20 am when I got there and plenty of everything. I ended up grabbing 4 single packs, 2 of the pack and a coin and 2 of the 2 packs with 3 promo and coin. I buy all the pokemon stuff for my cousin and sell it back to him and that pays for my bowman lmao.
I walked into Target yesterday morning around maybe 1030am to see if they had stocked.... and hot damn they did. There was no line. They had JUST put it out. All the normal line dwellers had already left. It was me and my wife so we were able to buy double! 4 Prismatic ETBs. 4 Ascendant Hereos Pin Collection. 4 EX AH boxes. Blessed. Then, we hit 2 walmarts and caught the tail end of restocks. Grabbed 3 Journey Together booster bundles. 5 Mabosstiff EX boxes. 2 bigger tins, 4 Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume blister 2 packs, Kangaskhan EX box and a Pokeball. Earlier in the week I caught 8 single packs of Surging Sparks in the wild at a Family Dollar(blister with card and coin, only $5), and a few Knockout boxes. IDK why people hate on the Knockout. Its Twilight and Surging Sparks for $5 a pack. Then I went to a card/collectable shop I had never been to and bought some singles. I blacked out and spent so much money. I'm of course ripping some of this soon, and keeping some sealed for a rainy day. (That collectable shop takes in trades of random collectables/figures. I traded in 4 Amiibos I didn't want as well as a Bioshock Infinate Songbird statue and he gave me $115 store credit that I put toward cards. It was like 50% value based on "market" but I didn't care - didn't want to deal with EBAY. Didn't hesitate. Declutter and get it out of my face. Going to take more stuff to them)
4 Pris ETBs, I would faint lol I hit 1 in the wild a few weeks back. TODAY, I stopped at Target (on the way to Best Buy), no stock. Went to best buy and got the new tin. Came back to Target, they wre just stocking, BUT the stocker let the first few people just grab Pris ETBs and check out. Right before I got there smh
Insane. My Target has everything behind customer service. Hard limit of 2 per sku. I don’t understand how it’s not the exact same across that company.
I wish. the management at this specific store is so clueless. They were getting pissed because people were lining up as the guy stocked. I even asked them "why not just put it all at CS?" "oh no we can't do that" when literally the Target 10 mins away does that.
yeah all the targets here have basically now went to line format no ghosts chair only allowed to line up at 7 am each day. 2 per sku and all behind customer services. Walmart is just a free for all
Scored one of each of the new tins (Clefable, one Lumiose mini) from Best Buy today to put away for a rainy day for the kid. I'm currently sitting on a few singles, those tins, and that Prismatic SPC so we'll see what happens. I've been mostly buying random singles recently and am getting a couple more tomorrow from a Marketplace deal that wasn't terrible for once (Xerneas and Zebstrika IRs).
My wife would absolutely murder me if I went on a card buying bender like yours so I'm glad she was with you. Lol.
