Song is great. Greatest hits albums don't do anything for me when I love a band's entire discography. Props to them for mixing up the track list on it though. The sequencing seems a lot better than if they just ordered the tracks chronologically.
cool interview w tidbits about the greatest hits compilation, the next album (they're "halfway done") and other stuff like Mark Ronson (!?) almost producing Transference We've Got A File On You: Britt Daniel
I'm glad to hear they're working on the next album. I don't mind them doing the greatest hits album, though it's an odd choice for a band still actively making records.
That's a bummer because he's great in Spoon, but I'll be very happy to see him with TGUK again. They've had a fill in most of the times I've seen them.
It's funny, I had the opposite experience of most of this thread. I was already a huge Get Up Kids fan when my friend loaned me his copy of Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga in high school, and my first reaction to Spoon was how much the bass playing reminded me of On a Wire and Guilt Show. I was absolutely floored when I opened the liner notes to see that Rob was in both bands.
Just getting around to listening to the new single from the greatest hits, but I enjoy it quite a bit.
Yea it’s crazy how great Spoon is at tweaking the formula jusstttttt enough. New song is so good imo.
