ok this was well done

 

Never listened to Spoon before but this is some good dad rock

 

My mind goes immediately to “Island in the Sun” when I hear “The Devil & Mister Jones”


So far this is pretty good.

 

One time through. I think the record is the weakest on songs like “The Devil and Mister Jones”, “The Hardest Cut” and “Feels Alright”.

the best stuff here is “Wild”, “My Babe”, On the Radio”, and “Lucifer on the Sofa”

a solid Spoon record.

Astral Jacket is an early favorite of mine

 

Wonder if the sax played on Lucifer (track) is done by the same person that did the sax on Us on the last LP. Sound is very similar.

Listened to this two times in a row yesterday. Expertly paced and every song I found myself thinking "Wow, this one's maybe the best one" until the next one. Love this band

 

This album didn’t grab me at first, need to give it another chance.

So far, I agree with this, only I still think "The Hardest Cut" is a really good song. This album is just fantastic.

Agreed, but They Want My Soul remains underrated.

 

I gave it another chance! Enjoyed it way more this time, work was kicking my ass the first time so I wasn’t in a good spot to enjoy it.

 

I was blasting it yesterday driving around with the windows down. "Wild" hit me especially listening like that.

 

easily my favorite of any release since Gax5 for now but LOTS may change that

I really want to hear the track “sugar babies” that came on the bonus flexi disc that came with the ‘dinked edition’. Still regret not getting that.
