I mentioned it in the Poppy thread, but it makes me wish Amy collab'd in the heavier sphere way more often because she is the clear highlight here and sounds incredible.
yeah, at its core, this is an Evanescence song with heavy elements, but all 3 of them are firing on all cylinders
I actually think it's just a Jordan Fish song, but when you throw these vocalists in it elevates it even more
Written by the singers, Mike Stringer and Jordan Fish, and produced by Fish. All of that makes total sense.
I don’t know how much money or clout Jordan Fish gets from being THE person for this sound, but it is seemingly not enough. Everything the man touches turns to absolute fucking gold.
would've been down for den Adel like 10 years ago, but WT's incessant use of AI (and apparently some bothsidesism about Israel) has kinda soured me on them recently
i know less about their stance on Israel (heard about it in passing), but they've been on a huge AI kick for their visuals for their last album. remember lots of people calling them out on it on IG, and they tried to double down on why it was ethical to use
For some reason I didn't think of Fish, but I did think it sounded like a Stringer effort with the guitar tone. What if they have more in the chamber? Like an EP. Like Boygenius, but in this vein instead. Would be a shame if it was just 1 song forever.
The more I listen, the more I realize each singer’s parts have the same musical bones as their main bands. When Amy sings it sounds like Evanescence, when Poppy sings it’s chuggy palm muting like her last album, and I really think Stringer is only on here when Courtney is screaming/singing in the bridge, but that’s undeniably his style. That’s a super cool approach to this IMO.
Didn't pick up on the style shifting slightly. Just assumed, that's like just....the song. I love this either way!
I would give a lot for a BoyGenius-level collab EP if they had four more songs even half as good as this one.
Evanescence’s Amy Lee, Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante and Poppy tell us about their massive ‘End Of You’ collab: “It’s the start of something”
