i like perfect soul but i liked it more when it was blessed be the dream would be haven but no way thats happening lol. of the more realistic bets no loss would be a blast
iirc, Courtney did a new interview and they used No Loss as the video footage over the other singles. That's one that'll get the grannies going
Keep Sweet to me would be the one that catches on more. Even though its not a single. I think that chorus is massive and would have a wider appeal. (I'm pretty sure they have focus grouped and scienced the shit out of this to know way better than I would) No Loss/No Love would turn some heads in a good way.
I think Keep Sweet is the better song (and my favorite on the album), but my “focus group” is my mom loving Perfect Soul (she loves evanescence) and her thinking Keep Sweet has too much screaming haha
Put it in the set list! Incidentally also my favorite guitar song on the record. The riffing and tones in the screamed part of the verses is insanely good. Reminds me a bit of the s/t.
Seeing them tonight at Bad Omen's 4th of July show! Very excited, as every other time I've been supposed to see them something fell through!
I don't want to suck the wind out of your sails but I would be legitimately shocked if any band in this genre got that big ever again.
$50 to see this band GA is very solid in 2025 , stoked they are coming to Buffalo on a Saturday no less
say what you will about periphery but they are impeccable live. looks like a great tour. wish the closest show wasnt 2 hours away lol
Hey, so I should’ve been more specific about the dates and timing because this routing sucks ass for me attending.
No Atlanta sucks but I guess all 3 bands have been here recently. I love Honey Revenge but they don't fit the other 2 bands - good for them though. Periphery are in fact great live.
Controversially I guess, I really don't like the cleans for spiritbox all that much and think Perfect Soul is one of the more skippable songs on the album. It fits within the context and the flow, but if it just came on in a metalcore playlist, its tough to not hit next, just doesn't do it for me. There are other songs in which I like the cleans more, but in general, she's not my favorite vocalist for cleans / melodies.
I feel like their fans tend to like the heavier stuff more, somewhat ironically, but I tend to like their more melodic songs - perfect soul included, but I think Courtney’s melodies on tsunami sea didnt hit the highs of the last EP, s/t, or the melodic half of eternal blue. Tsunami sea will probably finish the year a top 3 record for me but a few of the cleaner songs feel a touch undercooked to me, albeit with really high ceilings.
