My 15 year old surround sound system crapped out earlier this year. I asked my dad for advice on what I should buy next. Because I don’t really ever ask my dad for anything, he showed up with something wildly out of my price range and I am blown away that music can sound this good. Anyway, all of that to say:

This album’s production is so insanely high quality and I had no idea how much I could be missing. So far and away my AOTY at this point.

My top five favorite Spiritbox songs aren’t in the setlist somehow and I still have so much FOMO about missing this tour. Hoping the fall brings them back around when I can make it.

The other day at work I saw a dude wearing a nice Spiritbox long sleeve T. I said “yo they’re playing ATL tonight.” Yeah I’m going. I’m Courtney’s dad’s partner” (I think that’s what he said?). Me: “oh cool! “. And I blabbed for like 10 seconds on me being a huge fan. I said I was was at that show at the Tabernacle where they opened for Underoath. He said “me too!” Anyway. Cool interaction. I should have showed him my Tsuanmi Sea phone background lol *cringe

That show had such weird vibes with Underoath when the City tried to shut it down or whatever.

I think the year they played Furnace Fest she said the band are Auburn fans (@Micah511) so it makes sense they’d be around there.

We reach for the longest shadow

Fun fact: Courtney’s dad was an assistant basketball coach at Auburn for a few years.

here’s his wiki that outlines his coaching career. Mike LaPlante - Wikipedia

I’ve always wondered if Josh’s ties to Alabama had anything to do with them ending up in a band together. Josh is from Birmingham I think. We used to grow up going to a Chick-fil-A in a rougher part of town, and there was always the same cop inside whenever we went. At some point I found out it was Josh’s dad. I must’ve overheard him talking about his son being in a band (AILD) and put two and two together. Josh’s Saosin-esque post-hardcore band Year One was based out of Birmingham.

It was 45 for my show (Boston). Insane. Fantastic show, they sounded incredible, but a few weird undesirable setlist choices imo.

    Composer, but never composed.

i have often thought the same when i've seen them but i just looked up what they're playing for this tour and it looks near perfect. what would you have changed?

I was surprised they played the entire rotoscope EP, would’ve preferred more from TFOF and I didn’t like finishing on ride the wave, don’t really like that one, first half of the song loses my attention. To have those 4 songs played over keep safe or haven was wild to me
I don’t mean to complain, it was an awesome show. But I left scratching my head a bit at those.

no leaving the stage for an encore either so for the show to just end on that sucked some life out of the ending for me. Confetti during the breakdown was epic though, not sure I’ve seen a confetti cannon go on that long before.
