Maybe I think this post is a "big ole wet fart", what do you think of that, xapplexpiex? There are definitely less off-putting ways to discuss this than to default to slamming bands.
I mean maybe, just maybe and I am only speculating here, they are doing this for the money? Which is understandable. They are performing music for a long time now and I guess it feels good to make a bit of money with it too? Even if they have to compromise and tour with different type of bands as well.
Another thing I'd like to add is prior to this, they were going to tour with Falling In Reverse and Ice Nine Kills, and dropped off (for good reasons). So it shouldn't be a surprise they'd hop on a tour with similar reach and potential value.
Saw Spiritbox tonight. Courtney has bronchitis, but she still sounded amazing. Set was great. The new bass player has a good voice for backing vocals. They crushed it, going to be big. The visuals were really well done too.
Have a hard time recommending As I Lay Dying, but that's where the bass player was before. He did all the cleans on their albums back to... Separation I think? He's always had a good voice. Not surprised about the tour. It happens sometimes. Loathe are doing a similar tour. I will say, my brother is a huge fan of whatever genre you wanna call Shinedown/Papa Roach/other heavier radio rock bands, and I showed him Spiritbox the other day and he loved it, so maybe there is some crossover potential here.
Shinedown is post-grunge. Papa Roach is kind of hard to call nu-metal anymore, so probably just hard rock. Or you could just go with active rock for both, since that's their radio format.
Song? Album? EP? Either way, can’t wait, probably my favorite current “new” band — need to see them again soon, jealous of that UK tour with Loathe and Architects.
Ran a Google search, found this: https://www.reddit.com/r/spiritbox/comments/133vd9a/new_albumproject/
Def cheesy, though I'm not discrediting anxiety or panic either if that is what you are referring to. I have panic disorder and am medicated for it and been in therapy for the last 4ish years. Just feel like as a title there is certainly better ways to express fear of fear. For example, Frightened Rabbit's 'Painting of a Panic Attack'
holy shit. This is a pic I took when I saw them in ATL. It was their post show aesthetic. *look in bottom left btw they are def my favorite newer band. Now if Revolver would ever ship the vinyl of EB I ordered!
Don't really get what's "cheesy" about it. The last album was called Eternal Blue, the band is called Spiritbox. Like, it's a metal band ... this is right in line with the expected "cheese" imo.
let's fucking go. Spiritbox was one of the first things my partner and i bonded over when we met (as he introduced me to them).
I liked The Void a lot more than the EP so my excitement is back. Reminds me a bit more of the s/t which is by far my favorite release.
