Weird in a good way? Also how weird compared to the rest of their discog? Feel like it's all at least a little weird

 

Not much weirder than YAA(BUBC) - which I haven't listened to in so long, haha, so maybe this is weirder. I think it's the production that's mostly throwing me off. It's very, uh, loud

Bump because this record is great. Some of the noisey/fuzzy bits on it totally remind me of Low Level Owl.

 

I forgot there was a thread for this, this album was in my CD player for literal months, esp after I saw them live. What a great great album, they struck the line perfectly between being weird but not alienating. The accidental pop moments are awesome here, and they really excel at vocal melodies that shouldn't be as sticky as they are considering the noise BUT damn if I'm not humming "Ricky (caught me tryin)" at all hours

 

Completely agree, the first time I heard it I was like 'this is weird af' but after no more than two listens the hooks imbedded themselves in my head - I feel like they struck the balance between being strange, poppy and interesting absolutely perfectly.

 

Yeah, I'm actually surprised this flew as under the radar as it felt like it did. Feel like if people gave this a real chance, everyone would have been talking about it. This album is real exciting too because they haven't remained at all the same even in their short life span but it's hard to really predict where they go from here.
