I’m fine with Rand being white as he is in the comics. I just don’t see Jones having the acting chops to create an equilibrium with Simu in a Shang-Chi sequel. If they keep Jones then he is better suited for a Heroes for Hire show (not saying that Colter’s Cage is under that of Liu).

There is a new Asian character under the title of Iron Fist in the comics, but there is speculation that it’s Shang-Chi or Len Lei wearing the suit. The miniseries is ongoing and I haven’t kept up with it so I’m not sure who it is, but if it’s a new character altogether then that character can be introduced in the films/shows down the road. I’d also rather see Wing do her own thing with Misty in a Daughters of the Dragon show, but if they have her be Iron Fist and follow the end of season 2, then sure. Just have fun with it.

If Marvel is keen with bringing the same actors back then I won’t get my hopes up for a recast. They’ll most likely just get him a new stylist.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

been rewatching Daredevil too, like seemingly everyone lmao. in spite of the dumb ninja shit, some direction I don't love and some other stuff that hasn't aged perfectly... it really is just insanely good still. Charlie Cox's performance as Matt has everything to do with it, it's my favourite in the MCU

Hopefully they only brought back Cox and D’Onofrio because they were loved by the fans in their roles (and were great in them). They may not feel as obligated to bring Finn Jones back (if they have plans to bring back Iron Fist at all any time soon).

If they make a Spider-Man movie with Kingpin and that whole angle, you know who they really need to bring in?

    Cloak & Dagger.

Heck, either way, bring ‘em in. The actors are the right age that they could be Peter’s college friends. And, they were great in what I watched of the show, and that 80s into the early 90s of Spidey and that duo hits real good for me.

Come on, Marvel, make it happen.

It's just missing Iron Man 2 as a "thrilling character drama about addiction" and First Avenger as a "WWII period piece showing the brutality of war"

  13. I mean, if you take out the Scorsese side, are those Marvel descriptions really that far off, though? Shang Chi is a family drama about tradition and legacy.

  14. No Way Home is a character study on grief and loss.

I can do this all day.

They're right in the most surface level way (except Endgame I have no idea where the psychological mystery part comes from)

  16. Maybe they were thinking of The Leftovers haha

They saw the one clip of Scott after he got out of the quantum realm and went "Yeah that's what the whole movie is"

I’d take issue with describing anything in the MCU as avant-garde

I refuse to acknowledge that tweet, but if we must waste time today thinking about Marvel Studios film genres, reminder that Iron Man 3 is a Christmas film.

I rewatched Iron Man 3 (possibly my most watched MCU film?) and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang last year during the holidays, but I actually don’t think I’ve gotten around to The Nice Guys since it came out. And, I do own it! Should definitely hit that up sometime soon.
