Yeah, the final shot of him swinging through the city looked like a videogame to me

I was happily proved wrong. And it was only the last two leak pics I thought were fake because the filter they had made them look fake.

Movie ruled. Had a great time. Some of the logic falls apart the more I think about it, but I adored the flick.

Spider-Verse is what I’d watch solo and when I am in bed because it’s comfy, No Way Home is what I’d watch with friends.

I haven’t watched a full Raimi in probably 10 years. ASM1 is comfy, too.

I can quote the Raimi films more due to raimememes, however.

I can't wait to own this movie, I'm buying it as soon as it drops. Forget waiting for a rental

I really loved this. I was impressed how contained they kept it all, I was worried they were going to throw way too much in and it would be a confusing mess but it was pretty straightforward for a multiverse story.

Just amazing to see the 3 spider-men working together. My other big concern is it would just be quick cameos coming in to save the day in the final fight. I'm glad they had significant parts in the movies. Really glad I re-watched all of them leading up to this, it definitely made everything have a bigger impact. Really excited to see where they go with the next trilogy.

Why did Max Dillon, a character from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with specific traits, just become Jamie Foxx?

Some of the comedy in this movie plays like shitty YouTube sketches that would have been made about this movie

When the emotional core of the movie rests on Marisa Tomei’s Aunt May, it would have helped to develop her beyond jokes about how hot she is. If she wasn’t working for FEAST in the previous movies, more time should have been invested in that aspect of her character here, at least.

Overall it was sort of poignant, at times, and I enjoyed Tom Holland and Willem Dafoe’s performances.

    2.65/5

A film I found fun for a couple moments in between the stretches where I wasn’t interested in what it was doing, but one that further strengthens Scorsese’s critiques of Marvel as a whole. I had low expectations for a Jon Watts movie, that I raised slightly when I saw some people’s praise, and it met those slightly raised but still relatively low expectations. I may never watch another MCU property again, I think I’m mercifully letting myself be done.

they even joke at jamie foxx's change in appearance without ever explaining it beyond a shrug emoji

His appearance actually changes in ASM2 when he first gets his powers. It even (stupidly) fixes the gap in his front teeth. That's also when his personality changes to become not a tired cliche "nerdy loser guy" stereotype. Him getting an actual physical body back in this movie is shrugged off for plot reasons but that's why he looks and acts the way he does and not like how he is at the beginning of ASM2.

I understand why people wouldn't remember that given how truly awful and forgettable that movie is.

I remember it, but he still had a lot going on mentally and had some intense affectations post falling into the eels. This version was ready to host the MTV Movie Awards as Jamie Foxx

lends even more credence to the theory that this Electro is from later in the ASM2 timeline tbh

Even human Thomas Haden Church was still fully CG, right? Because he looked fucked.

It was fine. Garfield stole the show for me. I've been in hell all weekend with constant sold out shows and it will continue for another two weeks and I'm going to jump off a bridge so thanks you freaks

THC wasn't CG but it was a scene taken from Spider-Man 3 which they just layered onto the footage used in No Way Home.

  21. Absolutely loved No Way Home. It was way better than I thought it was going to be. Hoping to see it a second.. and maybe a third time soon

I didn't end up catching that one in theaters, but I bought it when it came out and I've watched it a bunch since then. I'll sometimes just throw it on in the background while I'm in bed
