My original post was a link to the AV Club review? And my original point was that it's not all hyperbolic praise, and that a fairly positive review from someone willing to be critical where deserved made me more optimistic I'd enjoy the film for what it is?

*sigh* Online Marvel fandom bums me out so much sometimes.

 

All I was saying is that the praise isn’t just coming from the standard nerds who praise everything. It’s coming from real places. I get that it must suck to have been banking on this being bad for the easy dunks but sadly it seems like that just isn’t the case this time.

 

Man, based on leaks, this movie sounds suuuuper depressing by the end. Not that it sounds bad or anything necessarily

 

Trust me when I say I like a good movie significantly more than I do a good dunk. If this exceeds my expectations, I’ll be ecstatic.

 

Pretty much, which is a necessary shot in the arm for this Peter, imo

 

Rewatching Far From Home (movie is p poopy). Can’t believe Siobhan from Mare is Betty! Never realized

 

she’s also the daughter in the nice guys

Venom post credit scene is terrible. They fucked that one up. MOM trailer is insaneeeee

 

Yeah, can't say I'm surprised about Venom after hearing a description of it heh.

Stoked for MoM.

 

Very excited for the status quo this sets up for Peter going into the college trilogy. The soft reboot angle makes a lot of sense to cap off the first trilogy IMO. He’s actually in a pretty similar situation to where I wanted Peter to be when they introduced him to the MCU. Now give me the ESU group in the next movie lol

 

First post-credit scene description

Eddie and Venom are sitting in a bar and talking to the bartender.

EDDIE: Okay, okay, okay, I understand that, I was just saying that this whole place, here, it's just tons of super people.
VENOM: And he has been saying it for hours!
BARTENDER: Alright, tell me again.
EDDIE: I'm sorry, I'm an idiot. There was a billionaire, he had a tin suit, and he could fly. Right? Okay. And there was a really angry green man.
BARTENDER: Hulk.
EDDIE: Hulk!
VENOM: Eddie, you thought "Lethal Protector" was a shit name!
EDDIE: Yeah, because it is! Now, tell me again about your purple alien who loves stones. Cause I'll tell you what, man, aliens, they do not love the stones.
VENOM: Eddie, don't start.
EDDIE: No, they don't love stones. You know what aliens love? Eating brains. That's what they do. Alright?
BARTENDER: You're a- he made my family disappear! For five years!
EDDIE: Five years? That's a long time. Yeah, maybe I- maybe I should go to New York and speak to this, uh, Spider-Man.
VENOM: We are drunk! Let's go skinny dip!
EDDIE: I don't think we should go skinny dip.
BARTENDER: Sir, you have to pay the bill.

The portal opens up.

VENOM: No! No! we just got here! Don't go back - hey!

Venom and Eddie are taken back to the Sony universe.

BARTENDER: And there he goes. No paying the bill, no tips, nothing.

A piece of symbiote is still in the MCU and begins to move.

 

lol, that Venom credit scene is gonna be so unpopular but sounds really funny to me. Truly perfect for those characters and their franchise.

 

I’m bummed that they go back to the Sony universe so quickly, but yeah, the dialogue is right on point for the characters, which is great.

 

VENOM IS LIFE!

Yeah, him being gone without being involved whatsoever was disappointing, but was a great scene.

Overall, the film was superb. Need to see it again ASAP.
