Another good write up on the best live action superhero movie to date

 

Spider-Man 2 is easily the best Spider-Man movie so far. I rewatched it again a couple weeks ago and the pacing, structure, characters arcs for Peter and Harry, Doc Ock, the train fight. I can go on and on. Easily the best.

 

Ticket secured for Friday at noon, dead center of the theater.

Normally we go Tuesdays because it's half price but events worked out in my favor.

I was not relishing the thought of having to dodge spoilers for five days, although $27 for two tickets is absolutely insane.

 

It probably won't happen but wouldn't it be so cool to see Emma Stone as Spider Gwen

 

I still think ASM1 is the greatest Spiderman film by far, but SM2 is a close second

(Live action, anyways. We all know Spiderverse is #1)

 

That first minute clip is pretty not great

 

Aside from the fact that it's dumb they revealed his identity in general, I don't see what's so bad about the scene

 

The “dude” moment is straight from Dude, Where’s My Car? isn’t it.

 

Not a huge fan of the general tone of the scene (but apparently that whole thing gets addressed when shit hits the fan in the second act) and Tom's voice as Spider-Man has gotten more annoying to me as time passes. Something about his delivery in the clips they've been releasing is kinda grating IMO

 

Premiering in LA tonight. Let's see if any leaks come out from it

 

I hope not. I know it will happen, but I deliberately got tickets for Friday just to avoid spoilers at this point as much as possible. I don't know if there's any capacity left for me to be surprised, but I like the illusion.

Maybe I'll go during the day the Monday after Christmas or something when there'll be less people, but ehh. My fiance is not thrilled by the idea of me going even without her

I think it’s pretty fucked but not at all surprising that Disney are pass restricting this meaning theater employees have to pay to see it even though they’re risking their health and safety to keep theaters open during a super contagious deadly virus so Disney can make a billion dollars. Worth noting that this has not been the case for any movie since COVID hit

I know it’s a small complaint in the grand scheme of things, but when this smashes records and Disney is all “CINEMA IS BACK” just know they don’t give a shit about the people who made it possible.

 

Looks like Tom Hardy and the MOM trailer are the credit scenes

 

Video leaks are rolling out now.

The “Tobey and Andrew aren’t in it crowd” (that I still hope are trolling)
are gonna be very disappointed

 

Reviews are calling this a love letter to Spider-Man and a film that understands the core of the character all while being the one of the darkest, emotional, and most exhilarating of the Spidey franchise.
