A couple weeks ago a friend of mine said he wanted to do a re-watch of stuff that could potentially be relevant to No Way Home and I sent him this list:

    Spider-Man
    Spider-Man 2
    Spider-Man 3
    The Amazing Spider-Man
    The Amazing Spider-Man 2
    Daredevil seasons 1-3
    Doctor Strange
    Spider-Man: Homecoming
    Avengers: Infinity War
    Avengers: Endgame
    Spider-Man: Far From Home
    Venom
    the last episode of Loki
    Venom: Let There Be Carnage

and I was only half-joking lol

I want a plot so dense I need a knife to cut the Kudzu vines emanating from its convoluted core. Give me all the plotlines.

One thing I don't miss about comics is all the crossover garbage.

I was cool with comics being comics and movies being movies personally

The MCU is a lot less hassle to follow than the comics honestly. I've mostly ditched Marvel comics these days, I'll probably read certain highlights. For now I'm still pretty invested in most of the MCU.

My guess is that they'll take the time to explain any context needed for a general audience because they like money, but we'll see I guess.

I wouldn’t say you have to watch Daredevil S1-3 but why wouldn’t you

I wish more Marvel movies were as successful at telling good superhero stories as the best Marvel comics are. The current corporate structure has apparently been particularly rough for creatives in publishing recently, and yet even in that environment, they’ve got a ton of names that excite me more than most creatives with Marvel Studios. The X-office alone is better than most of the MCU.

(Though, obligatory reminder that “comics” is so much bigger than superheroes! The way those words are treated as synonymous in America is honestly really shitty, as someone who’s personally a fan of both!)

Haha yep, I've been reading comics daily since elementary school, but only started reading superhero comics in the last 10ish years. Webcomics in particular have made a big impact on me. That, and Calvin and Hobbes, of course.

With all that’s happening in NWH I wouldn’t be surprised if a large percentage of people forgot that skrulls were in the post credit scene of the last one...

between gwyneth, tom's recent comments, and now this, it seems like no one wants to do these movies lol

Tom recently said the quotes were misconstructed and he’ll want to continue playing Spider-Man as long as they let him

I think it's relatively clear that most people that do these movies are in it for the paycheck/exposure. Doesn't stop me from enjoying them though.
