It hit me. All of it, you know. The first time I felt how tired I was, you know, I was just... tired, you know? You... You ever been tired, Red?

Not a lot of people are going to the theater around here, which is weird because they’re literally going everywhere else.

the scores for the sequel are lower on RT, metacritic, letterboxd and imdb. not saying those sites are all good, i have a lot of problems with them, but have you considered looking at other sites? it seems like a pretty common take to like the first more than the second.

steve is a better example of development than tony. much more important character to the universe as a whole as it continues to progress and the loss of him the last few movies and shows has been felt more strongly than the loss of tony.

That I wholly agree with. I would have liked if Steve stayed around to at least pass the torch to the younger generation. I don’t count Sam because he is practically OG.

Haha fair enough, I guess I was just going off of anecdotal evidence from other people I've talked with who have seen it. I agree it's fine and normal to like the first one more, I wasn't arguing that. But I just don't see a huge drop off in quality, either.

I'm 100% the opposite route. For me, the best way to challenge the newer generations of heroes they're gonna be pushing is to not have the metaphorical safety net below them. Plus, it was incredibly obvious Black Panther was planned to take on the moral center role Steve occupied until Chadwick passed.

I wasn’t speaking of him being a safety net or even the morale of the young generation. I would just have liked him to be there see a younger generation take hold of what he and others had started. Even just a nod of satisfaction for him seeing that the “Avengers” is something that will forever be carried on by others.

His role in the MCU was cut short (only 8 years) due to the writers developing a great conclusion that wouldn’t have had the same effect if used later.

I feel like it was the perfect length/ending honestly. For him as an actor and for the character/MCU.

I hate how close Homecoming got to being a better Spider-Man movie.

Those would have definitely improved it haha. I remember how salty I was about the spider suit at the time. Now I mostly don't care but it still definitely brought them too close to Iron Man and Jarvis.

May giving Peter one of Ben’s suits would have been nice.

I guess it’s because I didn’t grow up reading Spider-Man and only casually watched the cartoon and enjoyed the Tobey ones but things like the suit never ever came close to bothering me or ruining the movies for me haha

One would think having read comics growing up would make people more, not less, receptive to new interpretations of the character without having to be obsessively beholden to stuff from the comics, given how often comic books rewrite continuity or create new continuities altogether. One would think, anyway. That’s how I feel about it at least.

  24. We complain when the comics are written badly too. Seeing it happen before doesn't make it less annoying to see it happening again. (*cough one more day cough*) @Tim

Steve is THE best character in the MCU, Chris Evans captured lighting in a bottle in that role and I don’t think we’ll see something on par with that again.
