Like I said, I get it. I don't agree (about it being bad), but I'm sure given enough time we'll have another reboot and someone else will give it a go.

Hey, anyone remember that short comic series that explored a young Aunt May's love life and proposed that Peter was really her son all along? Man, that was certainly a thing that existed.

I thought these two movies have done a decent job of showing Peter as the nerdy awkward kid that he is. But I could have used mroe focus on it in FFH. It was basically just him stumbling over how to tell Mj he liked her

for the longest time I thought Jon watts was Jon favreau so I was like damn this dude really made his character get to hit on aunt May

lol, that was the most Tom has felt like Peter in these couple movies to me.

Though, MJ is by far my favorite part of this series, so I’m certainly a bit biased.

The YouTube channel Comic Pop did an episode about it and it’s a doozy. Who thought that entire story was a good idea?

oh yeah I agree, I just wish that wasn’t the ONLY awkward nerd around his peers stuff we got on FFH.

and yeah she is def awesome. Love the way Zendaya plays her.

Well, I’ve also always felt like the “awkward nerd” part of Peter was overrated and overstated, lol, so there’s that.

I try not to say that’s not part of the character anymore because, for the past couple decades, it’s been emphasized in enough media where, I get why it’d be someone else’s experience of Peter. But, it’s also not fundamental to the character’s history like some people say. When my obsession was formed in the 90s, that side had been mostly nonexistent since, like, the mid 60s? So it’s not really part of my conception of the character.

Which, is part of what makes the MJ stuff work, and also the better romance-y stuff in past films. I’ve always seen Peter as a likable guy who just can’t quite get things right due to his Spidey responsibilities getting in the way. And, while the Nick Fury of it all muddies it a little, my gosh did the moment where he leaves MJ in that theater nail that energy.

After the Maguire and Garfield series I like the Holland for the changes it’s made. I like that the MCU Peter is much more amateur for a longer period of time and is more dependent on the bigger world of heroes this time around.

Just rewatched FFH for the first time since theaters, and yeah, I think it's my second to least favorite Spider-Man film.

It's just such an odd movie. Barely any web swinging, that massive exposition dump from Mysterio, the woman telling Peter to take off his clothes, Tony entrusting anyone with something like EDITH, Peter giving it to a guy he just met, etc. Just strange choices.

I still had fun, but I can safely say I enjoyed the TASM films more than the MCU ones after rewatching the four of them this week

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Garfield is a great Peter and Emma Stone is a phenomenal Gwen. it's the way both movies feel like they've been recut at the last minute to carve out an entire storyline that bugs me

at the risk of getting flamed, the first garfield spider-man is my favorite spider-man movie. webb got lost in the sauce of the second movie, which is easily the worst.
